Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter Announced for 360 and PC

Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter is still steaming...and the Xbox Live Arcade version isn't even released yet - but Croteam has officially announced Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is coming to PCs and 360s next year.

The remake of the game's sequel will be unveiled at the 2010 World Expo in Shangai China which starts in May of 2010.

Croteam is touting a brand new "Co-Op Tournament mode" where "teams compete with one another." Unless there's some other trick to that pony, someone needs to give Croteam the memo, that's called team based versus - not co-op.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

Zatun Announces The Legend of Vraz , may be coming to the XBLA

Zatun, an independent videogame developer from India, has announced they are currently developing a 2D Platform game, The Legend of Vraz, for Windows. The Legend of Vraz features exciting gameplay of a suggested six to nine hours amidst fantasy worlds created with stunning hand painted 2D art and inhabited by mesmerizing characters.

Vraz the Prince is in love with Princess Avi and to marry her has to complete the five tasks set by Avi’s father while battling with the evil lovelorn Vizier and his shrewd accomplices in exotic worlds filled with dangerous obstacles. The player controls Vraz as he jumps runs, ropewalks and fires arrows. Vraz can either jump on enemies or use the arrows to neutralize them and has to collect keys to open locked doors and use levers to operate platforms or start/stop objects.

The gameplay is forgiving and game has no blood or violence. There is no concept of lives in the game and Vraz does not die; if his health is low he faints and restarts at the previous check point or starting point. For Health, the player can use mangoes, milk cans or go near the cow which recharges the health when the player is near it.

The legend of Vraz will be releasing soon and will be available for download on Windows. In addition, Electronic Theatre can reveal, thanks to an active participant on the Electronic Theatre Forum, that The Legend of Vraz is also expected to be made available on Xbox 360 via the Xbox LIVE Arcade service. Further information and screenshots from The Legend of Vraz can be found on the official website, http://www.zatungames.com, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on this and future projects from the upcoming developer Zatun.

NinjaBee Announces First DLC For A Kingdom For Keflings

Worsening conditions due to overpopulation in Kefling Kingdoms has prompted drastic action by independent video games developer NinjaBee, announcing today it would act quickly and decisively to resolve the problem by providing four new kingdoms as downloadable content for its popular Xbox LIVE Arcade title, A Kingdom for Keflings.

NinjaBee has also set a date, promising the new Kingdoms would be available for Keflings and avatars alike on Dec. 9, 2009.

"To be honest, it's about time!" said one giant avatar who wished to remain anonymous. "It's gotten to the point where you can't even turn around without kicking one of those little guys. It's getting out of hand, I mean, they're like rabbits!"

The new DLC is the first to be released for the avatar-based XBLA title and will be released separately as Kingdom Pack 1 and Kingdom Pack 2, each containing two new playable kingdoms.

Kingdom Pack 1
This Kingdom Pack brings a fresh perspective to the original game with brand new Kingdom layouts. The Orchard Kingdom puts some new and interesting twists on the Classic Kingdom, and Kingdom Crossroads gives a new pace to your game. Luckily, the Keflings are still just as nice in both Kingdoms.

Kingdom Pack 2
The new layouts in this Kingdom Pack are not for the faint Giant at heart. The mysterious Relic Kingdom will force you to explore every inch of the map to find your way around, and the challenging Central Kingdom is definitely meant for the more advanced player. Previous Kefling management experience is a plus.

A recent update to A Kingdom for Keflings made the new DLC possible adding a new menu where players choose the map they wish to play. The update also made Keflings stronger, allowing transporters to carry three resources instead of one, and protected online games from griefers, making hosts and their friends the only players who can destroy buildings.
