Because some people don't care that thousands lose their jobs, investors get shafted, and many people lose their favorite company so long as they are satisfied in their fanboyism. It's truly pathetic, but it can't be helped.

Why would someone care about thousands of strangers losing their job unless he works there or someone he knows? Because it's the right thing to do? Still doesn't make me care for it

Investors get shafted? That's the risk in taking big investments, no?

Many people losing their favorite company? I would care the least for this, I've seen too many insults that wii games look like N64 games, ps1 games, 8 bit games, etc No, I do not care for them. Not at all.

Well if you have no empathy, that's your problem. Thousands of people losing their jobs is never a good thing. Most people aren't happy when they hear when they hear that thousands of other people have lost their jobs, but if you don't care, that really just says something about you. And so what if investors took a risk by investing in a company? Does that mean there's no problem with them losing money? And not everyone who loses their favorite company is a fanboy. A lot of people may like a certain company's products, and have never insulted the competitors whatsoever. Sorry if people insulted your precious console, maybe you shouldn't take it to such offense.

I have wanted some company's to fail (not to go out of business, just to have a bad year)

Examples

Activision-blizzard at the moment
EA a few years ago

Only through failure can a company correct its mistakes

It's because they want a monopoly in the market, because monopolies are great. It means you can get all the great games on one box and don't have to bother with all that pesky picking sides and missing out on great games. I don't see a downside.

I never understood why the hell anyone would want a gaming company to fail. Tons of people are afraid of the Wii and want it to fail. Others think the PSP is terrible and want it to fail. Some people even want the Playstation brand to disappear. I cant see the logic behind that.

If all consoles do well that only means more games for us which is always a good thing. Id like all of five consoles to do well because in the end its a good thing for everyone.

Some peopel are just insane and full of hate though and nothing will change that. I like good games no matter what platform theyre on. The desire to want any of the platforms/companies to fail is terrible and I think people should try to change that mentality.

I own a Wii/DS/PS2 and a PSP before it got stolen. I play everything including PS360 because luckily my neighbors owns them so I freeload off of him.

People should really just play games and try something different every now and then. Im not saying its a bad thing to have favorites and hate certain games but to hate entire platforms, dismiss them, and want them to fail is terrible.

because i thrive on fanboy tears

@Saki- I agree with you, now, father mah gamez.

oh come on.

Well, namely one, Gebx... but hes been dealt with, so...

Him, YesWiiCan And infamous8 aswell as Megaman/dude are the real standouts though.

And have ya seen the hot topics threads going? >_>

Your Bioware "'really pumped'" to work on ps3" thread?

Pfft, that was fact, not horse shit like most of Gebx's threads and Megamans threads.

So truth = fanboy? since that's what you seem to be acuse'n me of...

wat?

I was just thinking you were self promoting :-p

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I don't wish for any console or company to fail... the more the merrier is my opinion when it comes to the world of gaming, and to have only 1 major player in the industry would surely mean that it would become stagnant.

I must admit, however, that being a Nintendo loyalist since the old Atari/NES days up until this current generation, I did take great pleasure in witnessing Nintendo reclaiming the throne as #1 and witnessing Sony's fall from grace, and all within the same generation after the exact opposite happened just over a decade ago!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Cause they ruined gaming by being half assed PCs (cept the wii). Of course you get half assed games on half assed platform.

I don't think a lot of people care if they hear thousands of strangers losing their job, but that's just me. Most people would just say "thank god it's not me losing my job in this hard economical time". A smart invester doesn't have all his money in a company. When a company goes bankrupt they can only take the money he has put in the company away from him and NOTHING else. So, if he was smart, the invester will still be able to live a better live then your average person. If he was dumb enough tp put everything into one failing company then he was dumb and deserves to lose all his money and he shouldn't whine about nor ask people to care for him as I will not.

The last thing you said is true, but still doesn't make me care lol.

I don't think of MS and Sony as gaming companies and I want them to go away and/or lose lots of money.

I don't want bluray.
I don't want to have to pay for multiplayer.
I'm not interested in Netflix.
I don't want to have to buy items of clothing for an imaginary avatar.

I'd buy a console from EA before I'd buy one from an OS developer or electronics maker. They are not needed, they are the leeches of the game industry. I hope MS and Sony both go the way of Panasonic's 3DO and leave gaming to games companies.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I want people to lose their jobs and commit suicide. That's just the way I roll.
