I'm quite familiar, and I'll take this to rub my brand new sealed copy of Persona 2 in your face.
That's even a bit too rich for my blood.
I have some rare items -- but that is probably the total value of my collection.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

I'm sure you will.
But next time I should at least finish my sentences without leaving out words.

This. I thought that it must have been dsister44 buying a lifetime supply of Viva Pinata.
It is suppose to be the rarest video game or at least the rarest NES game. The highest it has gone for is $25K. Look it up on Wikipedia :). The guy could probably sell it for a few thousand more than he bought it if he waits until the economy is back up and running better.

Except that in ten years it will be worth a lot more than what he paid for it. Value is not intrinsic, it's a social construct. I watch that show Antiques Roadshow all the time, and you'd be SHOCKED how much stuff sells for. If I showed you a broken old faded clock, and told you to pay me $50k for it, would that be a ripoff? Seems like it would, and yet I saw a broken old faded clock on that show that was worth $275k. There are fanatic people out there who collect every single thing imaginable, and something as rare as that game is in a section of the market that is only going to expand as the generations raised on video games grow up and get rich, which means that the value is only going to increase over time.
