@dirty, my point is that this game is a big new IP, something I think MS should invest to help diferentiate them from the PS3. Of course Sony has it's sequels too, but they are showing an effort towards creating new IPs to differantiate Ps3 library. They need to do it, since the old big titles like MGS, FF and GTA are 3rd and can now be waited for the x360. But once the price difference is less than $100, MS should start doing the same(investing in new IPs).

Regarding the powerful PC, it does steal sales from x360, otherwise games would launch in the same day on both. It also spoil the feeling that I got to get a x360 for playing that or another game, since i can just upgrade my existing pc(everyone in rich countries has one) and play also other titles. That's another reason for MS start investing in new Ips again, to hold back this titles from PC.

Nope what killed Nintendo's Momentum was assuming that Wii Music & Animal Crossing could carry them into the first part of Oh' 9! Over these summer months it MAY gain some momentum back, but that was a bad calulation that hurt...

...I haven't read further, but if someone already mentioned this ignore me! =)

The Wii used to be sold out constantly despite price, those days are gone now

In fact when the PS3 gets its cut, don;t be surprised if thanks to FF13 in Japan & HALO ODST in NA & GT5 in EU.....PS360 start eating into the wii's marketshare big time

With the Wii outselling it's competitors on an individual bases, reducing the cost of entry on the platform would increase sales to nearly double. Even if it's short term, as all price reductions are, it should be enough of a boost to put it at 50% for a while...

Why wouldn't a price cut for the Wii have the same effect with the games it has on the horizon?

If you're talking future games Zelda, if you're talking games that are coming out this summer, WSR has shown in Japan so far that it can boost hardware, POSSIBLY do the same in the other regions. In Japan MH3 is a month out with +400k pre-order. If Nintendo does ther same push with it here, INCLUDING the black Wii's thats a boost as well. Those are the games we currtently know about. I'm not including Super Mario Bros Wii, or Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid: Other M, as I don't think the boost will be noticable from those.

Thing is thats the same that could have been said about WSR in Japan, YET it has provide a boost over the last two weeks, increasing the second week. See if we're talking just HARDWARE sales, I believe the PS3 & XB360 need to expand their casual offerings. As this past E3 has show, they believe the same thing as well...Although Sony maybe abit apprehensive about it...
