PSN works fine for me. Once I have Cross game chat there's no real plus in XBL to me.

Most people say that because they don't use XBL .

Do you ?

There are also ppl who claims XBL is better just cause thats the only thing they have tried so far....your point?

Well, my point is that, for me, I feel a bit isolated when I start my PS3... don't feel like there is something living in there...

When I start my 360, it feels like the whole system "breath online", with animated content that are direclty feed to the NXE... avatars gathered in party mode playing some game, I can contact multiple person and jump from multiple discussions canals immedialty...I can pinpoint old players, recontact them and the system proposes me different actions to interact with them... etc..

On the PS3, the system basically tries to copycat the features but in a very tedious way... very tedious...and Home is not helping.

Of course, people who don't play online might not be very intersted in that anyway...

My point is, the only problem of XBL is that you have to pay for it... otherwise, nobody would find PSN a potentialy more attractive "service"...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Around the Network

It's impossible for them to "catch up" Live is an intergrated part of the Xbox 360 and PSN is a online service for the PS3... the fact is that is a limit they can reach. If Microsoft adds something cool on to the Xbox Live service it works across the board on all the games

Indeed, via the NXE, they can add dynamic content without having to patch the machine (or sometimes it downloads something quickly during the shutdown procedure).

With the PS3, they can only push tedious "download and instal"l updates... not very good...

One thing I hate on Live is there are ads everywhere.

Here in Europe, we don't like ads that much, when we shut off our TV, the last thing we want to see is other ads, especially when you PAY to see them.

I appreciate the fact the XMB / PSN interface has no ads whatsoever.

For the same reason, I don't like that much voice chat. Half of the people you beat online start yelling insults at you, and you can't spend your life muting everybody. I actually prefer nobody talks on mic when I play online, UNLESS it's your clan or a tema of people you know.

It's another reason why I prefer PSN.

A third reason is you can play with 64+ players (and soon 256 in MAG) in games on PSN, while there's no such 'experience' on Live right now, unfortunately.

To each his own I guess.

Ads everywhere?

They're hardly intrusive and definitely not all over the place.
The only time I remember there are ads is when I read about PS3 owners complaining about them on forums. About to go onto my xbox in a while so I'll try to remember to look for them.

And if Sony aren't playing catchup with Live then they can't be doing much with the service.

Around the Network

I'm on live now and the only ads I can find are for things related to live and xbox.
Things that are on live.

I don't know why you think they're everywhere. There's hardly any.

You do own a 360 don't you?

True, PSN is different than XBL each has there own style. I like the PSN and am happy to hear

there bringing more PS1 classics. And PSP GO is day one buy for me

Sony says this...but with common sense everyone knows that without the Xbox live blue print there would've never been the PSN that you see today.

Sega with the DC was the first company to start the whole process, also if it wasnt for Sony big success with the Playstaion there wouldnt be even an Xbox, not to mention if it wasnt for Nintendo there wouldnt be a PS....and.....what was ur point again

SegaNet was a failed attempt by Sega, during the Saturn Era. The Dreamcast would've never had a proper online OS without Microsoft. When the Dreamcast failed (which was still revolutionary) they turned to Earthlink. What was your point again?

So u agree that they where the first ones, coze thats my point right there

We know you are a die-hard PS3 fanboy, no need to remind us ...

There is no ads for the moment, they are thinking about it, IMO it could be a way to decrease the fee while conserving the budget to maintain it.

That wasn't even their first failed effort for online buddy. Keep trying. They were trying for online since the Genesis.

@sardauk : yeah, and we know you are a die-hard MS fanboy, no need to remind us ... ;)
