things below 8 aren't garbage.  And I think reviewers should see a variety of quality so you can see that they can be critical when they need to be instead of solely focussing on what makes a great game great. 

Are you kidding, when a game gets below 8 we see screaming throughout the forums, declarations of "I'll never trust them again," and cries that the sky is falling.

I think reviewers should review games that they are interested in and that other gamers might be interested in.  This is actually an industry-wide problem where reviewers are being forced to review bad games or games they have no interest in and it just leads to bad reviews.  If you don't like the Wii and Wii games, you shouldn't be reviewing them.  If you don't like FPS games then you shouldn't be reviewing Call of Duty.  Gaming is supposed to be fun so I think reviewers should review games that interest them and that they will enjoy writing a review of.

Honestly guys? I believe games should be scored from 0-10, not 5-10. I don't like the randomness of Edge, but at least they apply it!

A game of 5 should be an average game. 6 nice. 7 good. 8 very good. 9 amazing. 10 outstandingly godlike.

and then all games are scored of an 8 or above? I'm not saying that he should review a genre he hates, I'm saying that he shouldn't only choose games he loves to write about. A game doesn't have to score above an 8 for one to be interested in it, I have enjoyed playing games all the way down to scores of 6. Games in general are fun, just because a game is below average doesn't mean it was horrible to play. Those games score something more like 3 or 4.

AGREED. Even when reviewers, IGN comes to mind, just use the 5-10 scale, I look at it as a TRUE 1-10 scale...Even for Edge's randomness I do like that they use the FULL scale...

A good review from a site that i've never heard of before, that easily cancels out the bad review from IGN AU. I can buy the game now without feeling ashamed.

Good point- The site is less than two months old and so far I've only reviewed titles that have interested me personally. 

I suppose the point of the site is not to try to emulate the big players like IGN or Gamespot by reviewing pretty much every game- I'm not claiming that the site is fully comprehensive or anything.  But still, I take your point, it does seem odd when every game the site reviews scores well. I do plan on rectifying this!

As I said though, the site is still pretty much brand-new, and only getting started.
