Overlord: Dark Legend sold more than it should have.

And I know it didn't sell at all.

What makes you say that?  Should I not pick it up?

I was very disappointed. Almost the entire game is railroaded (there's very few sidequests, or bonus items to be found that aren't in your direct path, so exploration is almost unnecessary). It's ridiculously easy (I lost a whopping ten units the whole game, and all but one of those were ones I sacrificed). The humor was good and fun, but the gameplay was sorely lacking. It's a fantastic rental, don't get me wrong, but I don't think I'll ever play my copy again.

Wow, that sucks. It could've been really good with more dev time.

And when it flops, what will be to blame?

You. For not supporting hard medio-core games on the Wii.

I did my part.

Fixed.

I probably still pick it up at some point.  It's already pretty far down on my list, so by the time I get around to it, it should be cheaper.

I was really suprised to see only a single UbiSoft title in the top fourty. Out of all the third party publishers UbiSoft is the most devoted to giving us great hardcore titles on the Wii. EA seems to be following in Nintendo's footsteps 100% focusing more on casual gamers then hardcore gamers. Seeing Activision Blizzards success with their games is very good. I love to see Activision Blizzard finding such success on the Wii as they threaten to pull support from the PS3 altogether. Activision had six titles thats over half of what Nintendo got. Sega and EA are performing pretty nicely too.

Nintendo is still king, I was suprised to see the Jungle Beat remake in the top fourty, I know origionally on the GameCube it only pushed 32k month one. Then again Donkey Kong has always performed better in Europe then anywhere else. I wonder how good the other Wiimakes are doing in NA/EU/Asia.

In the end I'm sort of dissapointed in Nintendo's numbers. Then again alot of the top ten are year old releases like SmashBrosBrawl, still selling strong. Continued success of Galaxy and MarioKart also show Nintendo's longevity, once WSR , NSMBW gets released and Galaxy2, Metroid:TheOtherM and WiiFitPlus I suspect the list of the top fourty will be drastically changed in Nintendo's favor!

Then again I'm suprised at how poorly Punch Out is doing. But I bet WiiFitPlus takes WiiFit off the top of the charts this fall. And NSMBW takes third place on the chart right behind WiiFit!

I think EA's days on top are numbered, with UbiSoft now making a fitness game and Sega's "The Conduit" I'm betting that EA is going to drop in numbers and once Nintendo unleashes its fall line-up EA is going to disapear from the top ten! I give EA maybe a few more months with titles in the top five!

The question is will UbiSoft's fall line up beat EA's fall line up? Activision Blizzard has roughly the same amount of titles in the top fourty too they just aren't performing as well as EA's!
