Actually, the majority of awards went to LBP and Fallout 3. There were several threads on this.

In fact, I haven't seen a single major reviewer giving it to GTA4.

I think VGC gave it the just reward of Disappointment of the year, because GTA is.

umm, smg didnt win goty in 07...it might have won from some website, but the spike's vga gave it to bioshock :S

Metal Gear Solid should've won GOTY 2008, GTA winning it was just politics.

well many people consider the vga awards as the oscars of video games...u shud be more specific and tell which website or award show gave the award to smg

Well, we shouldn't. Mountain Dew doesn't get an award.
