GTA exclusive to a console translates to high hardware sales, same with Metal gear solid, and Final fantasy.

Those game are pretty much the only reason i still buy Nintendo consoles.

Since it's a franchise that could go between platforms, I'm going to assume we're not naming first party series. I'm going with Monster Hunter. The series practically revived the PSP by itself in Japan and sold millions of consoles.
MGS4 did push a lot of PS3 but not for long may be a month or so.
halo 3 pushed a ton of consoles and killzone 2 pushed some but not as many as sony wanted
VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3
Wii Fit/Sports probably sold tens of millions of Wii's
Monster Hunter saved the PSP
Brain Training and Nintendogs really pushed the DS
People bought the GB for Tetris and Pokemon
Mario and Zelda for basically all Nintendo consoles
Gran Turismo for PS2
GTA for PS2/3 and Xbox
Halo for Xbox
WoW for PC
And that's all I can think of :P
