I know... I know... Maybe we'll get it when you all get Rune Factory Frontier... he... he... Edit: Wait, you're in the US! How did you get LKS?

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

maybe people don't make RTS because the limitations of the wii it's self as well as the controller, and no the controller does not even come close to a mouse and keyboard and worse yet it's put it's self so far away from the dual sticks that those control schemes can't even be used.

In order for RTS to work one would need to have a very steady hand and unless your a machine you won't achieve it, because if you look at it, a mouse is always steady because it's always on the table and the hand mealy pushes it in all directions, and on DS everything is steady till you tap the screan, but the wiimote is only steady when on a table for example but then one can't use the IR to point on screen, so as soon as you pick it up to point the controller starts moving and thats because the human arms are not designed to be as steady as machines.

The only way it works well is if you go the pickman, battalion wars and overlord way, otherwise get a PC for RTS games or at least one of the HD consoles.

Actually, RTS can pleay very very well on wii and much better than consoles. It does nor requite Wii Motion plus at all.

  • A bounding box that is just a little smaller then the screen size, that way you have full access to quickly point at the units on screen and if you go to the edges you can scroll on the battlefield in a constant speed. You can also use the D-pad to scroll without the need to go to the borders.
  • The A acts pretty much as the left click from a mouse and the B as the right one
  • the + button would puase the game and the - will get you to the manus one by one.
  • The nunchuck combined with the  Z button will behave like shorcuts for skills and other abilities and accessing them with the C button(for example: you select one factory with A, select the skill with up on the analog stick and access with the C to create as many robost as you can)

This is my idea though. However, a Wii FPS will not be as fast paced as a PC game, but it can be much faster than an Xbox360/PS3 game because of the controls

Hmm. Swords and Soldiers sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out. I don't really pay much attention to Wiiware releases. The only stuff I've bought from that are Dr. Mario RX, World of Goo and FF4: The After Years (plus it's DLC).

Two questions:

What did you think of the games you've downloaded (do you recommend them, or recommend against them)?

Also, are you interested in finding out about other WiiWare/DSiWare/VC titles? Just curious...>_>

To all the people who mentioned Swords and Soldiers I totally agree

If you got 1000 points, download it.

at first i wasnt too into it

but its growing on me big time

very cool idea, and cool implementation

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Hehe, you sound like one of those Club Nintendo surveys. :)

Well, Dr. Mario is Dr. Mario. If you've liked Dr. Mario, or Tetris-style puzzle games, you really can't go wrong with Dr. Mario. OTOH, it's just Dr. Mario.

I also own the PC version of World of Goo, to play on my (crysis-capable) Laptop. The PC version is certainly the better one, due to the added precision of the mouse, but in the end, the difference isn't that great, and I like the Wii version because it's easer to relax on a couch and play it. As for the game itself, it's a delightful physicsy puzzly game. It feels like a reverse jenga, building unstable towers and bridges and such out of goo. It's amazingly fun, and anyone who hasn't played it is missing a great product of human ingenuity and creativity.

FF4: The After Years is the sequal to Final Fantasy 4, done in the style of a SNES game. If you like old Super Nintendo RPGs, and have played through FF4, I'd highly recommend it. It's really, really nice to have some new old-school gameplay. OTOH, I would highly recommend against getting it if you've not played through FF4, and especially if you don't like, or haven't experience old SNES games. Some of the gameplay elements (frequent random battles) would probably really frustrate gamers raised on newer titles, but it's pure bliss if you like that stuff.

I also have Mega Man 9 on my PS3, it's the same as the WiiWare version. Like FF4: TAY, it's an oldschool game, this time replicating an NES Mega Man game (MM2, mostly). Again, if you love old-school hard as hell platformers, it's bliss, but I imagine it would frustrate newer gamers who were raised on infinite lives are used to games where beating it is more based on time than skill.

I also have a ton of VC games across my Wiis. Most of the really good stuff (the 4 NES Marios and SMW) I have on both Wiis, most of the other games I have are old games from my childhood I remember. Love the service, wish FF6 (and GOLDENEYE!) was on it.
