maybe people don't make RTS because the limitations of the wii it's self as well as the controller, and no the controller does not even come close to a mouse and keyboard and worse yet it's put it's self so far away from the dual sticks that those control schemes can't even be used.

In order for RTS to work one would need to have a very steady hand and unless your a machine you won't achieve it, because if you look at it, a mouse is always steady because it's always on the table and the hand mealy pushes it in all directions, and on DS everything is steady till you tap the screan, but the wiimote is only steady when on a table for example but then one can't use the IR to point on screen, so as soon as you pick it up to point the controller starts moving and thats because the human arms are not designed to be as steady as machines.

The only way it works well is if you go the pickman, battalion wars and overlord way, otherwise get a PC for RTS games or at least one of the HD consoles.

Actually, RTS can pleay very very well on wii and much better than consoles. It does nor requite Wii Motion plus at all.

  • A bounding box that is just a little smaller then the screen size, that way you have full access to quickly point at the units on screen and if you go to the edges you can scroll on the battlefield in a constant speed. You can also use the D-pad to scroll without the need to go to the borders.
  • The A acts pretty much as the left click from a mouse and the B as the right one
  • the + button would puase the game and the - will get you to the manus one by one.
  • The nunchuck combined with the  Z button will behave like shorcuts for skills and other abilities and accessing them with the C button(for example: you select one factory with A, select the skill with up on the analog stick and access with the C to create as many robost as you can)

This is my idea though. However, a Wii FPS will not be as fast paced as a PC game, but it can be much faster than an Xbox360/PS3 game because of the controls
