though i never owned a Blu-Ray movie or intend on buying any anytime soon, but i have my ps3 only :]

just my PS3, replaced my upconverting DVD player too ... and my PC with some help from Playon :D

only if u set it on fire man or wrap it up with sheets or something :)
It actually is possible it happened to me :(But i am not worried about that because the movies dont make that happen. also if you are in warranty it gets replced for free.the only way to burn out your optical drive is to turn an overheated PS3 off while the optical drive on a bc PS3 is working. (If you would like to try it u have to use the switch on the back of the PS3)

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

just the console, no need for more Blu-ray entertainment.

No, I'm not even interested in Blu-Ray. I meen, its a cool feature I geuss for PS3 but I have never used it yet.

In my home, we have 1 PS3 and 3 standalone BR players.

No just the PS3. I've got around 20 games and 30+ Blu-Ray movies. If the PS3 slim turns out to be small enough I will buy it and use that as a dedicated Blu-Ray player. My only issue is space.
