Tecmo Koei: Xbox 360 Is Doing "Well" In Japan

Remember when the Xbox 360 launched in Japan? Boy, that was embarrassing! Microsoft has turned things around of late and found a small degree of success in the region.

"Xbox 360 as a business is doing better than the old Xbox," Tecmo Koei boss Kenji Matsubara tells game site Kikizo. "They have a good opportunity for growth, but of course Sony is a Japanese company and Microsoft is known as a business software company, so brand image is one point."

Matsubara adds that "Microsoft is doing well" — especially in regards to how difficult the game market is these days.

"I think they have good growth potential for the future depending on the titles," he says. "We have a close relationship with Microsoft so I hope we can be a part of that."

I Agree, that 1M mark should be seen as a great accomplishment

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Good job Microsoft!

What are you looking at, nerd?

Gogogogo 360!

(My theory is that if I praise Xbox 360 successes enough and jeer at PS3 failures enough I will become a fulfilled and happy individual)

Seems reasonable to me.

aren't that the same guy who said "Please cut the price of the ps3 " ? . or is it another guy in Tecmo Koei ?

Where's my announcement for a new game comign to X360 from Tecmo Koei then? Quantum to X360 perhaps? How about showing us Project Progressive and Dead or Alive: Code Cronus for once.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

They should've at least waited a month to say this, if only yesterday they were talking about how the PS3, in the most polite way I've seen actually, needs to cut the price..even though it's beating the 360 3:1 in Japan. If they consider the 360 as "doing well", then the PS3 must be doing fantastic and thus no need for Sony to cut the price lol

OT: Congrats to the 360...but we have known that it reached the one million milestone a while ago

I think the PS3 comment is direct at Sony on a more global scale since MS is still kinda owning them in total sale by more than 8 million.

Here's the omitted part of the OP article's comment

The 360 is doing well in Japan (if you compare it to the original Xbox)
