Others like Dead rising are watered ports that wii owners won't just accept that easy.

Actually it was more like a steel frame building remade with a wooden frame (wood is strong, just not that strong), and they had no previous experience making such buildings (no game of that scale remade from the HD systems to the Wii before, none). It only looks watered down because of this notion porting is done from the top down, not rebuilt from the ground up (and engines only give the foundation, they don't build the house for you).
I say it was more that Capcom didn't feel like hyping a two year old game and just wanted their foot in the door on HD to Wii remaking.
As for the others, they were too niche. Madworld didn't cost a lot so it sold fince, but Deadly Creatures seemed to be too ambitious for its niche.
