Forums - Gaming - AAG Reveals Top 5 Stand Out Games Of Remaining 09 No Wii Games On List !

They should made that list out of 10 lol. They missed out some crucial games.

So the media is biased. That totally explain how Galaxy, Brawl, and Sports made so many top lists. You know the media being biased against Nintendo and all. Speaking to a bias against super casual games perhaps, but those aren't really incredibly popular with gamers are they? Nintendo doesn't have a game on the list, because Nintendo doesn't have one of its high end exclusives on the horizon. They just have their super casual fare.

Were Nintendo releasing a Zelda, a Mario, a Brawl, a Kart, a Starfox, a Pilotwings, a Fzero, and so forth of a high quality this holiday season. Yes a Nintendo game would be on that list, but that is not what Nintendo is releasing this year. This is all crying fowl for no other reason then covering the ass of Nintendo.

There is no bias. The Wii is simply not getting a seriously epic game this year. So how can they be in a top five. That would be artificial and dishonest. Next year maybe, but Nintendo just does not have anything stellar on tap for this year. Hell in its first year the PS3 was much the same way. Uncharted was such an unknown property it rarely made the lists.

Why do you insist on rating games that haven't come out yet?

But yes, do go ahead, tell me fifteen games coming out this year that I should be more excited for that NSMBW, LKS, and Muramasa.

Here:

Alpha Protocol

Now you only need fourteen.

Because we know things such as Modern Warfare 2 and Bioshock 2 are going to be good. Anyway:

Assassin's Creed 2, Bayonetta, Demon's Souls, if it's as much like GoW as people say, then Dante's Inferno, Saboteur, King of Fighters XII, MAG, Max Payne 3, NFS: Shift, R&C: A Crack in Time, Singularity, Dark Void, potentially Splatterhouse if it doesn't keep switching publishers, Tekken 6, WET, sure why not? Alpha Protocol lol, Batam: Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legend, Dragon Age, L4D2. Dare I say...NCAA Football 2009 (I'm a college football fan), since it's not even on the Wii? Wolfenstein HD......oh my, look at me. There were so many great games coming out that I forgot that my limit was 15.

Remember though, the 5 listed are probably just the biggest games being released for the remainder of 2009...and they are far bigger than the ones you listed. You may be anticipating them for the remainder of this year, but according to them, they are the top 5 out of EVERYTHING...and they're pretty spot on

Well, I like the thinking games moreso than the finger-twitching ones, though I can't deny nostalgia has some views in my interests also. That said:

Number of games in Khuutra's list that interest me: 3

Number of games in BMaker11's like that interest me: 0

Number of original top 5 games that interest me: 0

Number of original top 5 to be rated M: 4

Ways original site fails without even going there: 2 (Use of 'everyone' when it's been proven wrong, excessive ratio of M games for a site that claims to be "all age.")

I do love when these sites generalize for "everyone's" tastes.

How sad.

Sorry, I asked you to name the ones I should be more excited for. I crossed out the ones that failed to qualify.

As to the bolded: you expect any of the games listed except for a Call of Duty maybe to be bigger than New Super Mario Bros.? You have to be joking.

It's my understanding that you don't own a PS3 now (maybe not even a 360), so I guess it's expected for you to not be excited about those games (my bet fails lol). But I would say, generally, that those games were bigger.

And sure, saleswise, none of those games, except maybe MW2, will be "bigger than" NSMBW (I'm assuming that sales is what you're judging the term "big" to be), but then....that would mean that the back catalog of all three systems have the majority of their greatest games...not "bigger" than Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

If you're not judging "big" by sales....then I don't know wtf you're talking about if things like Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Tekken 6, Batman, etc. aren't bigger than a 2D side scroller

I own the bejabbers out of a 360, it's just that you failed to name off games that excite me more than those previously listed!

Yes, Mario and Sonic as the Olympic Games is bigger than the vast majority of games released this generation.

And yes, I meant sales, but I expect New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Little King Story to be better than the vast majority of the games you listed, too, NSMBW in particular. I have no doubt in my mind that the ability to sit down with my wife, or with my brother, and plow through some classic Mario action, far outweighs the experiences offered by a sequel to Assassin's Creed, or Bioshock, or Tekken. Alpha Protocol is the only game I can think of that I anticipate coming close to that, and that only because of Obsidian.

But that's me.

I think it's fine to compile a list and exclude handheld games as that's a preference thing. That doesn't mean there's bias involved in compiling the list. People here regularly exclude PC games from discussions and that seems to be acceptable on the grounds that those individuals are console gamers. It seems like you could logically extend this to a more specific group, say a "HD" only gamer, nintendo only gamer, etc.

I find that list way too shooter heavy for my liking. Even if it's for HD consoles only, where's Bayonetta? Brutal Legend? ...Demon's Souls?

Nintendo is releasing a Mario game in the main series (New Super Mario Bros. Wii).

The thing is, AAG stated that these were the top five games on everybody's list, but Nintendo has two games that are probably on more peoples minds than any other game: Wii Sports Resort and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  These two games will be/are bigger than all of the games listed (with the possible exeption of MW 2).

i agree, but i think wii sports resort will be bigger than MW2
