more then I expected...
The hardware for 360 in the US this week is bull. How do people logically explain the 360 going from 37k to 74k in europe? They completely doubled there but in the US it only goes up like 19k? After all the reports of people seeing tons of halo consoles sold during launch and elites sold there would be much more than a 17% increase.
2.63??
I guessed 2.73...MAN!

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Since the beginning of September XBox 360 sales have been increasing in anticipation of the release of Halo 3 ... Sales have been over double any other month of the year

bingo
halo 3 did boost sales, by quite a bit. It increased slowly, but 360 has been selling extremely well this month, and im sure it was the halo boost. If you include all the weeks increase that halo produced, you would see that it pushed ALOT of systems, just not as many in 1 week (did VERY well in others)
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did. What many posters don't seem to realize is that hardware sales just don't vary that much on a week to week basis. Software numbers are very elastic, rising and falling depending on which new games come out - but not so much for hardware. Most systems tend to settle around a certain average and then fluctuate +/- 10% for long periods of time. Look at the Wii, which has been hanging around 90k per week in the American market for ages now.
As HappySquirrel said above, Halo has been influencing 360 sales for the past month at least, and possibly longer than that. A humongous hardware spike on one single week is an unrealistic expectation; that's not the way the market works. Fortunately for Microsoft, the next couple of weeks should also see higher than usual 360 sales as Halo fever slowly cools down. The game definitely DID move systems, just not in a single weekly spike.
On another note, it's interesting to see how Halo launch week is going to give the 360 a narrow worldwide sales victory over the Wii, probably on the order of about 10-15k overall. There's no doubt that the Wii will be back to leading in worldwide weekly sales next week, although very likely not in America. Just goes to show how unrealistic those assertions that Halo would propel the 360 back into the overall worldwide lead really were...
End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)

Exactly. Halo 3 absolutely sold lots of systems. It will be interesting to see what the system sales settle at.
