Forums - Sales - European "Halo week" sales data is up

If these are accurate than the 360 really does have problems in Europe, because this is the best position it will be in at least until the next price cut. It's almost certainly is going to be the last week the 360 has over the Wii for a long time, if not ever. The PS2 is not even far behind. Now at least this probably keeps the 360 above the PS3 for a while, which is what some call the real hardcore gaming race, but the gap between is not as big as it should be all things concidered.

Of course!

How could we forget to combine Sony sales to make for a fair comparison against the 360.

Good to see that if we add PS2, PS3 and PSP sales they still don't add up to the DS sales....despite the recent release of the new PSPstupidlylongname.

(ok we can't wait for Japan on this one due to the PSPstupidlylongname being a success there)

Just comparing current home console marketshares. Sony aimed at the highend market with the PS3 and at the lowend market with the Slimline PS2, the XBox 360 is positioned somewhere in between.

@ TWRoO

Nintendo has owned the handheld console market for well over a decade. Luckily Nintendo finally has some never before seen successful competition, not even in the Atari Lynx and Sega Game Gear days, which both failed miserably competing with the original Gameboy.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Sales number have been "adjusted " again for last week ,you know this as well as me.

Diomedes1976, why don't you buy your beloved PS3 yet if it's so great??

I think Diomedes is Ken Kutaragi. He just doesn't know what to do with all his free time now...

Do you write for the SDF, because your post has an uncanny semblance - http://www.sonydefenseforce.com/?p=200

Sony is aiming for the same market as the 360, which is aiming for the same market the PS2 dominated. If the PS3 was aiming for a "highend" market, it would be more like the NeoGeo or 3DO, aka significantly more powerful than its competitors.

LOL your almost as good as SDF

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Ha ha,... Sony has owned the home console market for the last two generations (or well over a decade) and you were comparing two of Sony's console sales (one being the most successful of any video gaming device and the other the successor to it) to the sales of a console that is the successor to one that wasn't the greatest success financially or marketshare wise.
