Forums - Gaming - DSi vs PSP Go.

Anyone who might be interested in knowing a bit more about the PSP Go can read this thread: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76872

Personally, I'm getting a DSi today (a gift from my mom), and I will be getting a PSP Go around its launch. The PSP Go is more my kind of machine, but the DSi still has enough games I want (most notably, Scribblenauts!).

dsi, although ill admit the pspgo has FAR better aesthetic appeal than its predecessors (vs dsi being a slight improvement imo)

Would you rather buy the DSi or the PSP Go? Now the DSi only cost $169.99 which is $80 cheaper than the PSP Go which is 249.99(as much as a Wii.) The good things about the DSi are that its has 2 camera, uses SD cards, bigger screen, plays music, has DSiWare and its cheaper. The bad thing is it doesn't play GBA games. The good things about the PSP Go is it is smaller than the PSP, plays music, 16 GB of flash memory. The bad thing is it doesnt use UMD and it is more expensive.

+pros:

-both are lighter; psp is SIGNIFICANTLY lighter

-PSP: slidy screen

-PSP: digital downloads

-DSi: matte finish

-both: sexier (my opinion)

-DSi: increased range wifi connectivity (b to g)

-DSi: increased technical specs

+cons:

-PSP: smaller screen

-DSi: higher battery consumption (10-14 hours vs 15-19)

Neither. Both the DSL and PSP-3000 have access to larger game libraries for a lower cost of entry.

"-DSi: higher battery consumption (10-14 hours vs 15-19)"

My experience has been drastically different from most people.

My DSL has lost battery charge within a few hours while it is shut (stand by mode). You can imagine my frustration after playing for a couple of hours, putting it in standby mode to get dinner, come back and find the battery is completely drained. I have never seen it run for more than 4-5 hours. It has gotten to a point that I always keep the wall charger close by.

Back to the topic at hand, DSL and PSP 3000 are WAY better choices. I like PSP-3000 better because of it s non-gaming functionality, bigger screen and modding capability.

Downloadable games have also increased its value in my opinion. with an 8GB card I have at the very least 7-8 games available at any time with no cartridges to worry about. PS1 classics also look MUCH better on PSP than they ever did on a TV.

People who complain about no dual analog stick should consider the fact that PSP actually HAS one. DS doesn't and most games that I have played on the DS don't use the stylus too much (I play mostly SRPGs and RPGs).

@skeezer

haha thanks. She's kind of a wibu and I knew she would love it.

My girl doesn't need a vibrator   After all she is "my" girl

Much prefer the PSP's library, games such as Killzone: Liberation and GTA: Vice City Stories can only be done on the PSP. I'm not into the whole range of games the DS/DSi have.

Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.

I met her in a club down in old Soho,

Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,

C-o-l-a, cola.

She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,

I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;

Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela

Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

None. I have normal PSP and DS Lite. DSi and PSP Go are just made to take more money from stupid customer who thinks PSP Go and DSi are much diffrent than normal PSP and DS Lite
