Yes, Sony will come back, but MAYBE it will be too late. The high price is a real BIG problem and a 100 us dollars/ euros price cut will help ps3 sales a lot. In Japan ps3 will be number one selling, but won´t catch wii lifetime. In Europe there will be a super boost on sales. In US only a decent boost... in america ps3 will be number 3 console lifetime.

2nd in japan, 2nd in europe, 3rd in america is what I predict for the PS3 at the end of this generation.

The problem with the PS3 isnt the price so much anymore, you can make a case its already a $300 console and a blu ray player. I'm sorry but if you have a job it isn't that hard to raise $400 in a couple months at most. The $600 price point existed for only a few months really, so if demand began to rise as the lineup improved in the middle of that year then it was a real issue. But $400 isn't that bad. A bigger issue is that most people see the Xbox 360 as a cheaper version of the PS3 which most or all of the games they want, and then alot of Wii owners also own a 360/PS3 so the software potential of PS3/360 is limited by that as well.

I never understood why people care which system will win out. Do you have stock in any of these companies? I personally love the games that come out for the xbox360, but I honestly only care if their sales are dwindling to the point that I will no longer get Halo, Gears, etc.

I expect sales to double what they were last holiday season, leading to major pwnage and mass fanboy suicides.

All of these things are rumors first of all. One of which is cloud (wtf is cloud!???) Of course some random social networking program is going to compete with possibly the two hugest social networking sites in existence. Gasp!!! Sony is adding a feature that Live has had since the begginning of the 360??? All hail PSN, by far the best console online service around. How about voice messaging? Simplified UI? Party chat in games, on the dashboard AND in other venues of entertainment? Instant reporting of abuse and native muting capabilities? How about making a headset more available, especially one that doesn't drop dead after 3 weeks? These are just the technicalities.

MS are going to release their own super slim console since they have succesfully pushed for a chip set of 32nm and 45nm chips. Effectively skipping a step and significantly decreasing manufacturing costs. MS not only has more flexibility on when to adjust prices but also by how much while still remaining satisfyingly profitable. Btw, you do know MS is cutting the existing sku's prices around the same time sony is right? Which would be very late summer early fall. Did I mention digital download service of the 360 library, making it possible to offer full games for cheaper and more conviniently? Oh yes the exclusives! How silly off me. Halo: ODST, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Forza 3, and L4D2 are all coming out in the span of 8 weeks in fall 09. Not divided between 09 and 2010 like Sonys' exclusives.

In conclusion, how could the PS3 not overtake the 360 and eventually the Wii and reign supreme for the first time this gen. The threat is imminent...the end inevitable. God help us all.
