Forums - Microsoft - Will we see a Halo Wars 2?

I think I'd prefer a brand new RTS by then, I don't think there could be another Halo Wars.

Of course there will be a Halo Wars 2.
The game was a sucess by console RTS standards (or any standards, as it made more than 1 million), by fans and by critics.
And it´s great to see something other than FPS set on the Halo universe.
Robot seems to be the one that will do it, as they are the ones supporting Halo Wars and Age of Empires, so, look at Robot as Ensemble II.

i hope not. halo needs to... stop being so obsequious

yes i think their will be and i hope so as well :)

That sentence doesnt make sense

Also, there probably wont be, and indeed SHOULDN'T be a halo wars 2, it only dilutes the franchise, disillusioning the fans as to the quality of each successive title.

It's possible since they've created an internal studio dedicated to the Halo franchise. I wouldn't hold my breath though since it's probably more lucrative to simply keep making more FPS spin-offs of the franchise.

I'd rather play an RTS without the dumb resource gathering base/unit building.
The Allies didn't land a couple of scouts on the beaches of Normandy and set up factories to churn out units.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

I certainly hope so as I really enjoyed it and its selling well so I don't see why not.

I'm not so sure I agree releasing four games in eight years is diluting the franchise.

FPS, WRPG, RTS and soon enough, MMORPGs
Microsoft is expanding console genres successfully, why would it stop now ?

Ensemble Studios were dismantled indeed, but the Halo franchise is well alive.
PS3 fanboys don't seem to understand how the market works.

About Halo being milked too much, blame the millions of users who keep asking for more.
