Top loaded eh?
I hate that stuff. The slot drive in the PS3 is just too convenient.

I think many of the happy people don't own a PS3 yet
Anyway, I'm happy, if my PS3 is broken, I'll be able to buy a new slim one

If it has BC, and BC is not being implemented on the 40GB via firmware update, and I can trade my 40GB for a slim and only pay $50-$100, I may get one.
Currently Playing: Saints Row 2 | Battlefield 2 | Company of Heroes
Recently Beaten: Gears of War | Super Mario Galaxy | Darwinia | MGS4 | Sam and Max Ep. 4, Portal | Mirror's Edge | Uncharted | Mass Effect
Looking Forward to: Alan Wake | Splinter Cell : Conviction | The Last Guardian | Batman: Arkham Asylum | SMG2 | Mass Effect 2 |
if it's a slot loading PS3 slim with a bigger hard drive and backwards compatibility, then I'll trade in my almost year old 80GB Euro PS3 + the free wii I got, and get my self this new PS3 for almost no extra cost.
| halil23 said: I hope this is not true, seriously it too early to have a PS3 slim. When did the PS1 & PS2 gets it slim sku? After 4-5 years!! Having a PS3 slim this early means shorter life span than it little brothers. |
You can't really make that assumption as this generation has been very different to the previous 2. The most important factor is that the PS3 in its current state is losing money on every console sold. Sony have forced themselves to release a slim version earlier as a cost cutting measure. The market, the competition and Sony's support for the system will determine its life span.

I was kidding mostly. It was too tempting to just answer "No".
But I actually think there are A LOT of people outthere willing and waiting to buy a PS3. If the slim one comes with a price cut, something we should expect, it could change a lot about the price and trend factors. Playstation is still a strong brand.
Add GT5 and FF13...
Anyway, IMO, sony will screw it again, they'll release it too late, too early, at a wrong price or designed wrong (see PSP go).
