So if this merger say did happen I would assume that Viacom would than own rights into the new merger of sony and paramount is how i see than? Since this would be like blizzard/activision merger which vivendi owns 52% of the new company. So really this might be a move so viacom can pickup sony into their division :O

I have a feeling Viacom is ditching Paramount and Sony just offered to pick them up. So in a round about way Sony is buying Paramount.

All articles I see say that paramount is like to merge with another studio. I don't see anyone saying it's sony right now. Forbes includes universal in the hunt.

The resulting film studio would be one massive organisation.

So the thread title should be, Paramount Pictures could merge with Sony, Fox, or Universal.
