Seen the anime long time ago but never played the game even though I would like to try it. has it been released outside japan recently?

I've watched this some time ago (probably 07, I watched hell a lot of animes that year). I wanted to try the game but never did in the end. I did play some Shingetsutan Tsukihime though.

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

Type-moon is remaking Tsukihime.
I beat the first path of fate.. 2 years ago..
But I have the gist of all the stories.
I'm guessing you found out who a certain servant was?

Keep in mind Type-Moon games play out in one world. (similar to Suikoden)
In Tsukihime the church plays a more prominent role, and they are a strong Organization.
But they are very discriminate towards non humans such as Vampires(Discriminate, as in they indiscriminately kill on sight). They have their own elite Assassin squad. They are also hateful towards heretics such as Magi. They give off the impression that the Church is much much stronger than the Magic Association Rin goes to. This is why the Church is a safe place for the Holy grail War and people who lost should take shelter there.

If memory serves, there are also 5 great sorcerers in the world. (similar to Suikoden's 27 true runes) Magi like Rin learn Magic from books, so basically anyone who gathers enough knowledge can perform Magic. Sorcerers on the other hand perform feats that are similar to miracles. 2 are introduced in Tsukihime. An old man and a young woman. 3( Or 1, I can't really tell if the other 2 were sorcerers) in Kara no Kyoukai (another typemoon work, currently airing as a 7 part movie). Rin knows the old man sorcerer from Tsukihime and the 5 sorcerers are mentioned by Rin and Archer on seperate occasions.

The anime is good because you get to see the battles animated, the Ep 14 battle that was never shown in the game (A x B)[Shortened as to not spoil others] and the ending of the anime is well made.

@Vashyo

It has never been released outside of Japan but fan translation is avaliable.

Anyone play this game or watch the anime? I'm going to watch the anime until I finish all 3 story lines, and after almost finishing the second one, Unlimited Blade Works, I'm glad I didn't.

Are you playing the original Hentai games or the modified kid-friendly ones?

FSN : I liked the anime but it left out tons and tons of stuff.  Plus being a regular anime and not a hentai meant it left out even more stuff.

Tsukihime : The anime was interesting though very incomplete.  Can't speak for the games.

From what I understand.
Length wise it's HF >> F > UBW

There are also other Patches.
The best one that comes to mind is the Realta Nua Patch.
Add's some extra CG from the PS2 game and adds another ending after achieving all 5 from the 3 stories.

The reason I somewhat know this is because I spoiled myself after watching the anime a couple of years back because I thought I could never get myself to read games like these. A decision I'm still somewhat regretful doing.. oh well what's done is done.

@Sonx1
The ps2 version "Realta Nua" has no sex scenes.
It is replaced by other scenarios.

I read about them somewhere a while back while I was really big into it.  Never understood why anyone would want to play them unless they were a total prud though.

Or they REALLY like CG dragon scenes. ^_^

I think if you install the patch from mirrormoon, they give the option to blank out the screen when certain scenes are being played.
