The end is barely a boss fight.. you are just walking in a river thats all, can you really compare it to mantis? I mean in MGS4 when mantis made his little comeback, that made my jaw drop

Fanboys and others call all this bullshit about the voices, MGS2 gameplay, hell I even some of the hate is because its on Gamecube. (Not calling YOU in particularly a fanboy just saying even the purists which I guess you are) If you deny Twin Snakes as being the definitive version I have to say you're wrong. They added a good amount of new things and its still the same MGS just better. As for why the story and characters aren't pulled of that great anymore...it all just comes off as korny. When the game tries to give off a somewhat deep message it still delivered kinda clumsy. I also had to make clear that MGS Subsistence is the version I played but it just slipped my mind since I just think of it as Snake Eater. |
I liked the direction of the gameplay. Loved the graphics and couldnt care less about what system it was on. The thing that makes me hate twin snakes is the fact that Solid Snake went from a gritty normal yet very deadly human being into a missile surfing, matrix shooting angry man... the cutscenes were so full of shit I can barely stomach playing the game.
Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I agree. With MGS3 being the best, that is. I don't agree with MGS4 being even close to it. I've said it many times before, for me, the series ends with MGS3.
I cried :(
Such an emotional ending, this game is perfect

Well I own the Twin Snakes and the original still superior to Twin Snakes and I think 99% of Metal Gear fans will tell you that
MGS1 gave off a very deep message, genes don't control your fate... the Snake struggle (Solid vs Liquid) (superior vs inferior) tied into that theme very well imo
MGS3 was a masterpiece, agreed.
An apparently straightforward story, but with immense depth and emotion hidden beneath the surface. My 2nd favourite video game and story "ever".
The best in the series is MGS4 for me though. The most profound and thematically deep by far, not to mention the most amazing gameplay mechanics and cinematography in the series.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence is the better due to the better camera. But yea MGS3 is the best in the series in every way. True masterpiece.

Also he goes down faster if you sneak up on him and knife him. It's something to consider for your next playthrough.
