There is a way to break the contract. Again only 2% chance of happening. Rockstar would dissapear. And become sony.

It was most likely that it was the 360 version that was causing the delay. MS themselves confimred they had sent a dev team to help with R* on GTA IV. There is also no deal we know of between Sony and Take 2 for a day and date release so if the 360 version was ahead of the PS3 version it would come out sooner.

The rumors suggested that the 360 version could have been released this year but it was being held back to be released at the time time as the PS3 version which was delayed due to technical issues with the console (probably due to having less available CPU time or main memory than the 360).
Wow, if true this could really help Sony this xmas. As their lineup is definitely less appealing than everyone else's thus far. If they get GTA4 as a timed exclusive with a 40G machine, which I think is pretty much confirmed at this point, they could really have a stellar xmas.

As I understand, they've only ever shown off GTAIV on a 360 because it had more polish than the PS3 version. I believe there was an article about it, that the PS3 was behind development by about two weeks. I'll see if I can find the article.

Last i heard the 360 version was 80% done, they never said anything about the PS3 one, but they have also told us in the past that the 360 was a pain with no HDD. Plus the fact that DVD9 is so small it could really hurt what R* had in mind for GTA.
