Forums - Nintendo - having technical problems with the wii. can anyone help me out?

so far ive not had a single problem with my wii, but in this last week ive got 2

1.  when playing gamecube games, the wii tends to crash and say the disc  cannot be read. but its had no trouble with wii games, only gamecube games

2. with one of my wiimotes. it cant recognise the nunchuck. plugging in the nunchuck causes the wiimote to lose IR functionality. the wiimote works fine on its own?

im guessing it will be best to talk to nintendo about this but i was wondering if any of you guys had encountered this problemand know how to fix it

thanks :D

Have you tried multiple GC discs? maybe the one you are using is dirty. Sometimes even if they look clean, they have a smudge right in a critical spot.

As for the Wii Remote, sounds like you should call Nintendo.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Try getting a lens cleaner for problem 1--there may be some slight idfference in the way it reads Wii and Gamecube games that's causing it not to read the GC discs properly.

For number 2, you could try cleaning out the Nunchuk port on the Wiimote, but it's probably best to ask Nintendo.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Huuu, no, never heard of those problems...
As for the Wiimote-related one, have you tried re-synchronizing the remote? Dunno if that'd work, but who knows, might be worth a try.

I never encountered those. I think you should save up some $ for repair or never play the wii like it's new ever again

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Oh, so you're using one of those? It probably fried your Wii Remote...

Also, My GC reads GC games better than my Wii for some reason. My copy of SSB:M has the shit scratched out of it and runs flawlessly on the GC... On the Wii, I have to clean it before I start to play...
