Forums - Gaming - What single game will last me until the holiday season?

you make a good point, Squilliam, why ARE console games so expensive? pc games are like nearly always at least $10 cheaper than their console counter-parts

Every console game has a ~$8-10 royalty fee to the manufacturer of the console. PC games don't have this fee essentially also I think PC gamers tend to be more price concious and more apt to pirate so the price comes down more rapidly.

Tease.

Persona 4

I know I've been playing it the last two months...

FF7 for $10 on PSN is a steal, or you could get some PC games off of Steam... there's tons to choose from and they have deals on games almost every week. Team Fortress 2 or Left 4 Dead would easily last you till the holiday season.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

in my country console games costs twice as much as pc games. most pc games cost 20-30$ on the launch day.

Definitly Socom. If you havent got a headset this is the ideal time to get this bundle. If not buy the game, its very cheap, in England it £10 the bundle being £30. Dont no about Canadian prices, but its an excellent game.

If you have $80 why not get a couple of cut priced games? They are still as good as new releases and you'll have some variety to play with.

I DON'T have $80...maybe it came out wrong in the OP, but my budget is like $30-40

On a different note, is it worth getting the Oblivion GOTY edition as opposed to the regular edition? It's only $10 more, which isn't a huge deal, but I don't know if the extra content is worth it...

lol. Let's just say that even if the core game is huge already, the GOTY edition is one the most valuable GOTY editions ever made. It's so worth it.

Mario Galaxy and Tetris Party. Wahouuuuuu !!!

The goty edition comes with both expansion packs and fixes alot of in game bugs....very worth 10 dollars.

I got the original age of empires for £1 a few months back... even though I already owned it. But it would keep you busy for a few months at least, it's epic.

You can also get a lot of second hand PC games for a few dollars/quid quite easily, most of them are still very good.
