Yes, Mafia is an exceptional sandbox game with a truly riveting story right to the very end.

the PC version has 88% on metacritic, check out some of the reviews below....................

I loved the story (Just beat the game). The three gangs and the "unknown" forces controlling it all were very diverse and very well written in my eyes. The characters and voice acting were great, and there were some laugh out loud moment and a couple of shocking "damn, that's fucked up" moments, too. I think the thing that hooked me the most was the customization. I spent forever pimping out my character, houses, cars, gang, and buying businesses. SR2 (like GTA 3) lets you take the game and make it your own.

GTA 4 takes the cake in graphics. SR2 also has several annoying glitches that GTA4 doesn't have. GTA4 may even take SR2 in the shear amount of things you can do (and by "do", I mean watch: TV, Comedy shows, etc.). But SR2 really has it where it counts. I loved it!

And next, I must download the "Ultor Unkut" DLC........

I'm saying it again. Everybody that calls Assassin's Creed or GTA 4 a bad game is pampered way too much and probably never played a really bad game in their live.

It's like saying Uncharted is a bad game, Metroid Prime Corruption is a bad game or Crackdown is a bad game.

I enjoyed Assassins Creed. The only down side to the game, is that what you did in the beginning was what you were doing in the end. There wasn't too much diversity there. I definitely don't regret the purchase, and the sequel looks like it's going to be hot.....hot like Saints Row 2's gameplay.

See how I brought everything back full circle.

Since I answered your question of why I though Assassin's Creed was bad, can you do the opposite and tell me why you thought it was good?

Good thread. I so want to try Saint's Row 2.

And Assassin's Creed is one of the most fantastic games ever made, despite it's flaws. U cant go rong with medieval times and Jerusalem.

And mark my words: Assassin's Creed 2 will be GOTY 2009. You can quote me on this.

Maybe it was the amazing expectations.  Maybe it was the cell phone.  Maybe it was Brucie.  For whatever reason, I was completely underwhelmed when I bought Grand Theft Auto 4.  Many of you were, too.  Well, a week ago, I FINALLY bought Saints Row 2.  It was cheap, and I wanted to check out some of the downloadable content.  I fired up the game, and was instantly let down by the graphics.  I was ready to toss this game on the shelf with its precurser.......but for some reason, I kept playing.  And I kept playing.  And I kept playing.

This game is FUN.  Its been my obssession for the last week.  I'd find myself up at 2am, playing this game, even when I had to be at work at 630am.  That's something that has only happened four times, this generation (Gears of War 2, Zelda TP, Metal Gear Solid 4, Lost Odyssey) to me.  If you were one of the people who let down by GTA4, buy SR2.  It rocks!!

*goes back to playing SR2*

UnKut clothing pack FTW!

Nice thread.

Well sure.

The graphics are absolutely stunning. There are such detailed cities and every one of them has it's own feeling. Altair is ultra cool and very sympathic. Side characters are well done and some of them very unique. It has a very deep and awesome storyline. In fact the idea of playing as one of your own ancestors isn't generic at all plus it has that mysterious feeling especially when you wake up in the present and read through Lucy's E-Mails. For me the ending was pretty good, because I wanted to play AC2 so much after I've finished the game, so that has to mean something about the quality.

As I already mentioned the atmosphere is like no other game. When I walk through one of the cities, I feel like I really would be in that time. Everything just feels so alive and might I say real ?

The platforming was perfect. Maybe too easy for some people, but why would anyone demand platforming like Tomb Raider. That would just slow down the whole gameplay. Anyway I really liked that it was soo easy. It felt very smooth and more like a gazelle than a big breasted woman (hope you get that joke).

God I loved SR2, I took my time in the begining and had a character that looked exactly like me, to the point where it creeped out my friends (I kept the whole customization thing a secret lol).
As great as the radio, customization, story, and humor were in the game, I still think the most amazing upgrade from GTA had to be the ability to toss people into traffic or down stairs. When i went back to GTA4 after beating SR2, i just never had the same fun as I had throwing old people in front of trucks...
