Forums - Nintendo - Resident Evil 4: Wii V.S. GameCube

Since the Wii can play Gamecube games, which one of these should I buy?

Is it really better with the Wii remote? Are there any other improvements in the Wii version?
Some reviewers said that the Wii version is better, yet they rated it lower than the GC version.

Thanks

Wii. No doubt about it. The controls are nothing short of spectacular. One of the most immersive games I've ever played, hands down. The only reason the Wii version is rated lower than the GC version is because it's a port. The Wii version is superior to the GC version in pretty much every way and is one of the best games one can own for the system.

The Wii version, with Wii remote it is so much better!
I'am a big Resident Evil fan, for Resi 5 I bought a 360 and I really missed the Wii controls.
So sad there is no Resi 5 for Wii...but maybe Resi 6 exclusive for Wii 2...
Back to topic buy the Wii version, and enjoy one of the best games ever.

The Wii version has the PS2 versions extra content.

Wii version definately. The controls were so hard for the GC & PS2 version that it made me lose interest in playing it at times.

Wii version all the way.

Between the controls and extra content, definitely the Wii version. If I remember correctly, I think it also adds widescreen support. I don't have a widescreen tv, so not positive it's different. No real change in graphics for standard tv, but the extra content and wii mote control is worth over double the price of the GC version.

Wii edition for sure

has the better graphics from the GC version, extra content from the PS2 version, & much quicker and easier aiming due to the Wii Remote's IR pointer.

the only con i would give it is that you wont be able to experience how it plays with the tradition controls. but that's minor since Wii version is more fun to play.

I'd recall someone saying that GC controller would be optional control method?

Yeah, Wii version is far more fun to play with, the controls make a lot more sense, and getting headshots is a lot easier.
