I don't believe this has anything to do with what type of TV they have. Believe it or not HD doesn't automatically equal HD console.

If there was no pirated games for the PS2, I wouldnt be surprised to see its software outsell the 360s on a weekly basis

unless they release JRPGs in it ,lower the price and actually start listen to what people want.

there is pirated games on 360 also , but not as much as PS2 , as it isn't implemented much outside US
(main reason why people "buy" multiplats on the Xbox)
how is the Wii number that surprising again ??
do you know how large the percentage of Soccer moms and non gamers who only play the Wii once a week while the 360 dude plays his almost every day
it really seems to make sense, at least for me.

yep. Wii has sold more software. Nielsen is bases solely on a small % of questionaires. I don't put a whole lot of stock into them. If they said 360 with wii in a close 2nd I could believe, but not PS2. |
Nielsen, NPD, etc . . . they are all we have. If we don't put stock in them, then there is no reason to put stock in VGC either. The only numbers that are 'true', then, are numbers provided by console and software manufacturers IF they release them. And those are only shipped to retail numbers usually, not actual sales.
Anyway, I can believe this with the PS2, just because it has sold over 50 million in NA alone. Wii and 360 are still quite a bit behind that. People still play it too, especially if they aren't hard core or simply can't afford the new systems yet.

yeah but then the Wii has three or four times the amount of units in the US so a lot of playing goes around, same with the PS2 and it's 50+ million user base
also we don't really how much of those PS3's are for Blu-Ray movies or Home Theater.
This is Nielsen probably the best there is in statistics and Entertainment industry hell the TV shows are biased around its numbers.
I know what you mean. I was just mentioning the reason to the people who said the list suckz and Wii should be number 1 when it's Nielsen's poll and that source is as solid as you will ever get.
The PS2 will haunt you in your dreams lol. It's a beast, just leave it at that. It will be overtaken eventually, but it's fun as hell watchin the PS2 go.

Give the 360 a year or 2 and it will be on top as the most played game system.
