Moderately advertised Multiplat beats a moderately advertised Exclusive.

Im not surprised.

Good numbers for both.

you said it for me

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

Will you start similar thread about CoD MW2 and Halo? It is easier to sell more on two systems. No magic here. It is as simple as that.

Let's wait for figures verification.

With Prototype being available to an userbase of 28 million people bigger than inFAMOUS', this is not really a big surprise. Although I am surprised by the low numbers of inFAMOUS though. I have yet to pick it up, as I have not the possibility to pick up games now (because I am not home and will not be for yet another 1 and a half month). However, I will not pick up Prototype.

well prototype is a genuine good game so it was bound to sell well. plus it was released on 2 platforms.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

What's this? A 360 fan who was expecting inFamous to outsell Prototype?

Why would you expect Prototype, a game which is multi-platform and has been hyped far longer and harder, to be outsold by a new IP PS3 exclusive? Oh wait....you didn't....you're just starting a flame war. You guys make me laugh.

From what I heard, Prototype just suffered from being a bit repetitive and somewhat simple button mashing after you unlocked your bigger powers.

What I mostly wanted to compare was the Prototype 360 numbers with inFamous PS3 numbers to see if anyone thought if inFamous had been multiplat or received some better advertising.

The day I get another PS3 (which is unavoidable, and likely after the price cut/slim) I will love to play inFamous as it is more my style (play the hero/have a choice is better than just being the villain in my opinion). I know I'm somewhat stating the obvious regarding the sales of these games, but at the same time I had not expected to see Prototype numbers so high.

@perpride, please ignore my signature for once.  I'm not some biased 360 fanboy. Notice I never once said I expected inFamous to outsell Prototype let alone the combined versions of Prototype.  I was merely commenting on the 360 version selling more than inFamous and wondering what the cause of this was.  I genuinely believe inFamous is the better game and can't wait to play it some day.  Even my little brother who doesn't have a PS3 wants inFamous

Did you guys read the opening post? the Xbox version by itself out sold Infamous

Well, inFamous sold better than the PS3 version of Prototype, so that's an accomplishment.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

One in every 131 ps3 owner bought Prototype
One in every 109 xbox owner bought Prototype
One in every 90 ps3 owner bought inFamous
One in every 117 ps3/xbox owner bought Prototype

Just thought id see what the ratio was. I was bored.

I'll be renting Prototype for the throphies in the fall, to much sun out now to be playing videogames.
