wow, best DS game ever made? what a complete joke. the game was pretty good, but it was by far NOT the best DS game ever made

I expect the game to breal less than 1/5 of what GTA Liberty city did because of piracy on the PSP.. I saw rockband numbers for PSP.. wow its not pretty

To some degree I think this talk is damage control. It's not wrong, but it's still damage control.

Of all the "hardcore" games that people claim are failures on Nintendo's systems, I'd have to say this is the one that I would actually agree on. It may make a profit and the sales aren't bad per se, but as Grand Theft Auto goes this is definitely going to be one of the worst-selling ones in the series.

Anyone remember what happened to Resident Evil 4 on the Cube? The moment Capcom announced the PS2 version, it took the wind right out of its sails; they may have just cut that tail short.

Well at least the developer realizes that the DS (and Nintendo systems in general) tend to sell games longer but not so big at the beginning, that type of slow burning sales is why games like Nintendogs and Wii Play are past 20 million this gen - they didn't launch at even a 4th of that.

"Going by total review scores." They have a criteria, you just have opinion.

This game wasn't hurt by piracy any more than any other DS game. It's not a good excuse. I think it will sell for a long time as well and have great legs too. I just don't think it sold well considering that Grand Theft Auto is one of the biggest gaming series of all time. Hopefully, the DS and PSP can tag-team with GTA and Take 2 will see greater profit and release more games in the series.

Isn't it only going to be on PSP GO? That's an all digital format. Maybe it will take people a long time to figure out how to pirate the game on PSP GO.

The legs are already starting to show. It has been consistently selling ~15k+ for several weeks now.

Maybe somewhat, but I tend to think that the DS's more than double install base over the PSP and the fact that the PSP and DS cater mainly to different demographics (I know a lot of gamers have both but I think most DS or PSP owners are DS or PSP only owners) so the legs on both consoles shouldn't be hurt too badly by the other console's game.
