Forums - Nintendo - Tiger Woods 10 Wii will easily become the best selling in the series.

Tiger Woods 10 on Wii starts off in one week on track to be the best selling Tiger Woods game ever.

American week one sales for the '10 Wii version are 45% higher than any other Wii version.

At this point, the highest selling Tiger Woods game is on the PS2 for '04 at a little less than a million and a half.  The second highest sales in the series is also the highest selling Wii version, 2008 which sold 1.34 million.

Opening week US sales of 10 are 92,650, and it starts selling in others this week.

With US Fathers day sales showing up on the next weeks sales chart, and Europe opening sales showing up on the same chart, this should easily be the best selling launch of a Tiger Woods game. I predict WW sales will be more than 200,000. And it should have moved at least 100,000 motion plus attachments in that time, if not closer to 150,000.

Historically the Wii version usually sells most units over time instead of upfront like the PS/Xbox versions. If I recall correctly, TW on Wii sells a huge portion of it's units during the holiday season. And with the amount of media attention motion plus will get, and the critical love this game has already seen, sales of TW 10 should EASILY reach 2 million, I am optimistic that it might reach 3 million, more than doubling the highest sales the series has ever seen. Well deserved, as I believe it to be the best golf video game ever made.

Thoughts?

I think it's generally accepted that we're looking at the most successful Tiger Woods game. I'm more interested to see how Grand Slam Tennis does compared to other tennis titles.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I think TW '10 will not only sell a lot of copies, I think it'll sell quite a few Wii to golfers. It's that good. It should easily become the #1 selling version of TW.

I would never have even considered a golf game before, but the critical praise made me pick this one up.

Take that as you will.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Needs to sell more. I want to see this game go full viral.

And one month ago, I didn't give a crap about golf as a video game or a sport.

I agree that this could potentially be a console mover

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't do sports games, but if this is a good game and fun for people who like sports games then I hope it does (and am glad to see that it is doing) well.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

On a personal level, I have evidence for this.  A priest at my local church, who is a big golf enthusiast, owns a Wii and the game.  I was surprised to find out he bought a Wii to play it, but that just shows the extent of it.  Well, I believe it is TW 10.

Anyhow, anyone here want to argue we should get rid of motion control as an option?  Anyone think a golf enthusiast would end up buying a PS3 or 360 to play golf with a joypad controller?
