Forums - Nintendo - Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) calls Wii "an amateur console"

What the hell is going on here? It's Shia Lebouf, people! Maybe if Laurence Oliviet, or Marlon Brando bashed the Wii, there'd be a reason to freak. But this guy isn't even worthy of Brendan Frasier's hair plugs.

In 5 years, we'll look back on his "career" the same way we wonder what ever happened to Mark Hamill.

I'm in a debate. Calm down, would you?

... What in god's name could have possibly suggested to you that I am not calm?

I'm not the only one in the debate, and this debate isn't with you. Besides, what is there to feel sorry about? We're just talking out our differences in games. I love the heat of debate and thats why I involve myself in it, win or lose. 9Chiba obviously insists on proving to me that Nintendo in some form or fashion is focused on the hardcore...which is somewhat Shia's argument. I agree with Shia's statement, quite franly. What you should feel sorry about, is Nintendo fanboys getting defensive and using ad homenim attacks on a pretty good actor who isn't here to defend himself. It should be impressive enough that there is even an actor who likes to game and is within the age group of most of us.

I'll make a bet with you that after the Transformers movies are over Shia will be everywhere and still be here five years from now. That guy is a product of what I call the Disney Idol factory. Indiana Jones was a shitty movie, but besides that he's a great actor. Disturbia, Transformers and Eagle eye were great. I mean they weren't five stars, but they were great.

It would be amazing since both of them died well before the wii came out....

Haha!

And Stage, he's only a "pretty good" actor if you compare him to that chunk of wood that they had play Darth Vader/ Anakin Skywalker, in the last Star Wars movie.

Oh, there's lots to feel sorry about, considering you're saying that platformers aren't hardcore. Regarding attacks on Shia, I'm not going to comment either way, because I think he has it coming to him for being so unbelievably rude and mean about it.

The fact that you agree with Shia's statement makes me feel even more sorry for you, because it is by far the most ignorant thing I have seen on these boards. Ever. And I'd like to believe that you, somewhere deep down, know that for yourself as well. I really would.

He's the "young" flavor of the moment. And Eagle Eye was a giant flaming turd. Transformers is only "good" as a popcorn flick, nobody expects "acting" from it. And I haven't seen Disturbia.

But seriously, he'll come and go like the rest of his ilk.

You're essentially telling me that if I'm going to post in a thread I need to be on both sides, and can't be on one side, which makes no sense whatsoever. Good job.

Also, I'm not attacking anyone for being against my opinion, I'm saying it's embarassing to see someone be so unyieldingly convinced that platformers aren't hardcore. If there's one genre in gaming that's hardcore, it's -- You guessed it -- platformers. Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, hell, even Zelda 2 which most people say is the hardest of the series (much of it because it incorporates platformer elements. I guess next we'll start hearing that comedy movies aren't meant to be funny.

I have a friend who helped in working on the CGI in Transformers and in Thundercats and even he said, he had to give it to Shia and Megan for their acting jobs infront of green screens. He claims that it wasn't an easy job. Looking at the movie it was pretty good. Transformers is a good popcorn flick and it's also a good summer action movie. The movie itself is world better than the new Transformers anime series.

I've liked the movies he's been in so far but I still haven't seen Eagle Eye, is it good enough to buy blindly or should I rent it instead?

The script was ok, but Shia and his co-star made it worth at least watching. Disturbia is the only movie of his that I actually have in my movie collection though. Watch what happens when he starts getting quality scripts outside of Disturbia and Transformers. This kid is going to blow up.
