how about Transformers 2 Boycott. Coming we can't have enough of those at the Chartz :p

I'm way the hell ahead of you on that one. They couldn't muster enough plot to make even one Transformers movie, I don't want to know what Bay wiped off his ass to inspire this second one. Best case scenario is if Bay decided that maybe they should try putting a protagonist in the second film.

So Michael Bay wrote the screenplay for both movies? I could've swore it was Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman. Roberto Orci is also doing part two. Maybe you should google the guy and try to get his Twitter or something, then you could let him know how you feel.

No thanks, I've spent more than enough time on that movie already, I don't need to spend more dropping searches into Google or IMDB. I know it's not fair to blame some shmuck named Orci, because screen writers are just slaves to the egos of producers and directors. Casually ragging the film when its mention crosses my path is about the most fun I'm going to ever get out of those two hours, so I'll take what I can get.

This guy doesn't deserve a thread with his name in it at VGChartz. Leave that to E! online or some rubbish, delete this thread immediately!

I can't stand shy lebow!

I agree. Just giving a person like this any attention at all even if it`s good or bad is a total failure.

Oh blast, did I just do it now?

everyone who claims that shia's being bashed just because he doesn't like the wii need to reread what he said. he basically bashed the entire wii user base, and he has never played the console. opinions are fine, but this guy hasn't even touched a wii. he has no right to use such harsh words.

let it be known that i still plan on seeing transformers 2. also, although Megan Fox is a twit, id still hit that. XD

You don't need to play the Wii to know that it is geared towards casual gamers rather than the hardcore.

right, but to state that its for "amateur" players is just wrong. i dont really view myself as an "amateur". the wii may have a lot of casual games, but they don't all suck, like he's implying.

don't forget that the wii has its fair share of core and challenging games....

Casual does mean Amateur, but because they don't want to progress their gaming skills. Would you rather I said novice? The Wii may have challenging games...but the amount of those games, do not warrent a purchase from a hardcore gamer. Casuals can get full value out of that system.

look, no matter what anyone says, ALL GAMES use progression of skills. what hardcore gamers have that casuals dont is the understanding  of most games in general; they can pick up just about any game and play it because theyve played many many games before and developed the "sense". casual games are ones that only require common sense. the wii only amplifies this, because of its intuitive controls. hardcore gamers tend to hate casual gamers because they didnt have to work hard for their fun. which makes sense.... sort of.

You just admitted that the Wii is a start up system, without actually saying it. Most people who buy Wii's are not going to upgrade. You also hit the nail on the head for while most hardcore gamers cannot tolerate casual games. Hardcore gamers are a minority, but their voice still holds a lot of weight.

youre funny. i was actually neutral and adding to your point, but since you insist on treating everyone who doesnt hail your HD consoles as the center of gaming, i guess ill just jump in.

hm, i guess it could be a startup system. but it certainly isnt single sided. plenty of hardcore. besides, its not like this simple-button, easy to figure out thing started with the wii. its in pretty much all of nintendo's games. wii just has waggle.

and another thing. dont say upgrade. i dont find the PS3 better than the wii.

aaaand finally, how many people do you think bought the PS3 or Xbox because "they heard the graphics were like krazy!"? the truth is, casual lies in your precious HD systems too. people who play games where one button makes you enter a long (albeit beautiful) and boring cutscene where some guy rips off another's head or slams him into a wall. the ridiculously good-looking games that make people go "nice graphics" even though the gameplay sucks ass. the button mashing games (Yes, im looking at your precious tekken. i love the fact that it has character depth, story and fighting styles, but i hate how i can own someone without practice). games that have oh-so-many tracks, maps, cars or weapons. oh and your fapping games. forgot about those. these games are a STRONG part of(pretty much most of) the HD library. they just have M or T slapped on to them, to fool people into thinking theyre elite. yes, you can argue that the triple A games on HD consoles are ridiculously hardcore, and i cant disagree. but like 20-30 games in a library of 500, 800, 1000?

I never said that the Playstation 3 is subjectively better, when I say upgrading. When I say that someone is upgrading to HD, they are upgrading their know-how of gaming and are entering a new realm. It is kind of like playing music; I play guitar and sing, so I know about progressing and wanting increase the quality of my sound. I want to play harder songs and learn newer styles. I never forget where I came from, but I upgrade to be current...and most importantly, because the challenge keeps me on my toes. Nintendo are the masters of pulling non-gamers into gaming...like they did with me when I was four years old. I was a dedicated Nintendo owner, until I bought the Playstation, which basically sucked up all the good games. I still had the 64, but as I grew up Playstation provided the more mature titles that I wanted to play. In the Playstation era, I was in middle school, so yeah. Playstation 2 was highschool, and the beginning of the next gen was college, so there you have it. It was a long process, in which I grew into the difficulty and diversity of games. Nintendo may be making all the money, but they create start-up systems. They are the innovators and the gate keepers for the console gaming industry. Microsft and Sony are the scavengers, who pick up the pieces. I gladly went for the scavengers, because as I grew as a gamer, they provided. Until Nintendo caters to me, I have no use for it. This is also a reason some of my friends who only had Wii's upgraded to 360's. They loved the party games, but got bored after a while, because of the lack of cool games coming out. Well E3 has shown some great games, but they seem to be in a 360 trance right now. My friends who own the PS3 are few, so I am alone there. I have only one friend who solely owns the Wii, and he is trying to kill off playing videogames so he can focus on "more important things", as he puts it. Technically the Wii exists so he can play with his girl and stay away from hardcore gaming, but everytime he comes to hang with us, he gets tempted to buy an HD system (which he can more than afford). He is a huge fan of team ICO games.

First of all, PS360 games aren't all one button kill games. This is why there are sixteen to eighteen buttons on the controller. They are there so you can inflict a maximum amount of carnage in action games, make realistic plays in sports games and in shooters to be able to control your weaponry and not be stationary in the process. I am not a graphics over substance person, so don't write me off as one. There are plenty of quality games on both HD systems, that do have great graphics, but are quality games. In fact at this point, there are too many. You may not feel that way, but I respect that. Nintendo does offer a certain something, to certain people.

just as ps360 games arent all one-button kill games, wii isnt all party games, nor is it all simple games. and simple onebutton controls does not mean you can master the game without skill. it just means YOU have to figure out for yourself how the game works. as for your sixteen to eighteen button theory... im not sure about the 360 but the playstation 3 has 17 buttons; the L2 and R2 are rarely used. The home button is useless during gameplay, the select button is useless during gameplay, and the analog/dpad alternate; rarely are they used together. wii controller implements all 13 (minus the home button, and nunchuk motion as a button) buttons in most of nintendo's games. oh and please name your quality games, ill tell you which, by your definition, are casual and which are not, plus match a high quality nintendo game.

The Nintendo Wii is the king of Party games. There will be more Mario Party, Mario Kart, Wario ware, Wii Sports, Wii Fits, and Wii Resorts to come. The Wii has mature titles, but they are few and far between as opposed to the casual titles. The Wii is no place for a hardcore title to grow. PS3 and 360 are shot for party games besides for Viva Pinata, Little Big Planet, Rockband and Guitar Hero. Rock Band and Guitar Hero are already on the Wii so that increase the amount of Popular Party games that the Wii has on its already decorated roster. I almost forgot about Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games sold over 11 million copies between the Wii and the DS. Platformers=Casual. There might be some well crafted games on the Wii, but the mature titles that are worth buying are in low quantities.

The PS3 and 360 controllers have from 16-18 buttons. You seem to forget that on Xbox live you can use the home button, because you can have conversations with your friends and look up achievements to focus on, while playing. It is a second option box, just like the start button. L1 and L2 and R1 and R2 and their counter parts on the 360 are very valuable for use (Especially if you are playng sports, FPS or racing). In games like Mass Effect, the right and left top button are inventory buttons, which choose your weapons or powers. This is an argument that you cannot win. There are far too many great 360 and PS3 games to count, so i'll only give a few. I'll probably give more later.

All of these games are either from 8.5's to solid 10's. Find this many mature titles (not party games or platformers).

Street Fighter IV

Gears of War 1 & 2

Killzone 2

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Condemned 1 & 2

Lost Planet

Perfect Dark Zero

Red Faction: Guerilla

Halo 3

Halo Wars

Resistance 1 & 2

MGS4

Soul Calibur 4

Tales of Vesperia

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Call of Duty 4

Assassins Creed

Saints Row

Saints Row 2

Mass Effect

Grand Theft Auto IV

If I gave a true list it would be way longer, but this is just off the top of my head.

lol, cherry picking. what do scores have anything to do with hardcore? and ill disregard "platformers" and "mature titles" as i see fit. and i didnt "forget" 360 buttons cause ive never had one. ive played halo 3 and CoD.

I wasn't Cherry Picking. You seem to have a problem grasping something. The Wii was created, mainly, so that it could be attainable to virtually any human being and not just the hardcore. This is the reason it has...what developers call a "pick up and play" style.

titles that arent out yet ALREADY got an 8.5-10 AND have been proven hardcore??  Yes.

Before I even start, let me, let you in on something. The hardcore=Popular games that casuals would rather not play, because of the moderate to experienced style controls and gameplay. Hardcore gamers unlike casual gamers, would like to actually spend time learning a game and masterning it.

Casual games=Games that have a "pick up and play" development style. They do not require 15-30 minutes (or more) to learn how to play. Casuals do not game like hardcore gamers.

tekken 6: button masher=casual  This is not a button masher. This game is second only to Virtua Fighter in difficulty, which isn't a button masher at all. Button Mashers include SSMB:Brawl and the DOA series. Try reading the combo and string list. The next Tekken will have bounces and juggles...so that just adds to the difficulty.

SC4: ditto Wrong. You've never been in a Soul Calibur tournament have you? Soul Calibur is on a lower level than Tekken, but is worlds beyond any fighter that the Wii has, save for Capcom vs Tetsunoku.

GoW: x-mashing game, casual This is not a "pick up and play" game.

Prototype: x-mashing game, casual This is not a "pick up and play" game.

heavenly sword: even easier to play than the other two  It may be easier, but is still not a pick up and play game. Even a novice couldn't pick it up quick enough.

Gran Turismo: if you cut mario kart, im cutting this. there are less buttons to press, less things to do on the track. only reason you call mario kart a party game is because 4 people can enjoy it at once.

This game is a simulation....not a kiddy game. This game requires knowledge of all usuable buttons, understanding of turns and terrain. Think I am joking?

Forza 2: ditto. Car simulation, which demands that you drive in a manner like cars do in real life. It demands that you master automatic and manual cars, just like Gran Turismo.

Condemned 1: had... 1 button for attack. brilliant. casual. (condemned 2 ADDED an attack button. congratulations, it becomes hardcore) This is not a "pick up and play" game by any stretch of the imagination. You don't just attack you aim, stalk, block, attack, change weapons, use secondary appliances, read and more.

Infamous: you CAN map buttons to a more complex control system, but casuals are just fine with mashing x How do you buttonmash in a game that drains your power, then forces you to recharge? This is not a "pick up and play" game.

UFC undisputed: they tried to make it less button-masher-oriented by adding dodge but... really, it didnt work too well. This game has an 15-30 minute learning curve, and an days just to master it. This game doesn't even have all of the moves in MMA and it is still extremely deep. This is not a "pick up and play" game. I play this game every week, tournament style, with my friends. Try button mashing in this game, and you are sure to lose as your player gasses and is easier to submit from exhaustion.

heres your new list:

Street Fighter IV

Gears of War 1 & 2

Killzone 2

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Condemned 1 & 2

Lost Planet

Perfect Dark Zero

Red Faction: Guerilla

Halo 3

Halo Wars

Resistance 1 & 2

MGS4

Soul Calibur 4

Tales of Vesperia

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction

Call of Duty 4

Assassins Creed

Saints Row

Saints Row 2

Mass Effect

Grand Theft Auto IV

25 titles, ill tack on 25 to be fair. (im aware you missed titles like portal, L4D, mirror's edge, and RE5)

I told you that I was just adding off of the top of my head. That isn't even the half of the list. Do you actually want me to search for the games?

heres mine:

Mario Galaxy Platformer....start up game.

Okami Nice looking game...but wasn't my type on the PS2 and isn't now. Hardcore fans of the first should love it though. Just like the PS2 version....it sold like shit. Man I feel sorry for the devs.

Resident Evil 4 I'll give it to you....this game was actually very fun. Easy...but still fun. Didn't feel as tactical as playing with a normal controller though.

LoZ; Twilight Princess Great game. It is lucky it's name is Zelda, or else it wouldn't have sold well at all.

MP3: Corruption/MP Trilogy Much better than the GC versions of Metroid and the controls were pretty good, but not great though. This is a must have for hardcore Nintendo fans though. Please do not count the GC games for the Wii, just because the Wii has BC. They are GC games and leave them there.

Rune Factory Frontier This game scored well, but can only be properly be appreciated, only on the DS.

Tales of Symphonia: blah blah blah

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins Looks pretty passable and simplistic. No version on any system will ever surpass the first game for me.

Resident Evil Archives See MP3

Brawl Buttonmashing melee platformer. I actually like this game, but It is still what it is.

Battalion Wars 2 One of the more promising games on the Wii, but as I say promising.....it goes hand-in-hand with sold like shit.

Little King's Story

The Conduit Requires at moderate level of skill (so it can pass) and actually has a learning curve, so thats passes. The only reason people give a damn about a game like is this is because it is on the Wii. If it was on the 360, PS3 or PC...no one would care. Nevertheless, it is the best looking shooter that I've seen on the Wii. This game could not be compared to the best FPS games though. By Wii standards..it's great.

Murasama: Demon Blade "Pick up and Play", side-scrolling, hack 'n slash, button masher. Looks very fun though. I never denied that the Wii has fun games.

Red Steel Has the shittiest controls out of all the Wii shooters. The game is just broken, hence why you must buy Wii motion plus for the next game.

Overlord: Dark Legends Personally, I find this to be a dumbed down version of the actual game. I saw the videos and this game is primarily a point and click and and slash game. The HD console versions are more immersive. Not to mention the fact that this game is only a side story. I tell ya...Nintendo always gets shafted.

Zack and Wiki This game is soooooo marketed towards children and young female gamers. This game is by no means hardcore.

Capcom vs. Tatsunoku The only actual fighting game that the Wii has. I'll give you this.

Super Paper Mario This is another "pick up and play", platforming Mario game, aimed at women and children. Even though it isn't hardcore, at least young gamers will get some history on Mario's roots.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn This is for hardcore RPG fans only. The majority of Wii owners will ignore it. (Scampers off and checks) Yep, I just just checked this game sold terribly. Putting a hardcore RPG on the Wii is not a smart thing to do. The smarter thing to do would've been to put it on the DS.

Disaster: Day of Crisis They should've just turned this game into another Virtua Cop. The shooting system is a carbon copy of that game. This is a pick up and play game. The game feeds you control schemes. It's a second rate, search and rescue/rail shooter. House of the Dead is better to tell you the truth and that game is just....really old. It is just too simplistic looking of a game.

Mario Strikers Charged Pick up and play game.

FF: Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time Wow....the settle for less series that SE created to keep Nintendo happy, after giving the main franchise to Sony...and now both HD systems. This game belongs on the DS....because there it will actually be appreciated. On the DS, a hand me down FF game actual seems fine and at a higher level. On the Wii...it's just sad, because Wii is a full blown console and barely gets any response. I just checked...and I was correct. It not only was more appreciated on the DS, but it sold better as well. Seeing as they both sold shit and scored like shit, even combined...I could care less.

Pokemon: Battle Revolution Childrens game

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 Second rate wand shooter. Medal of Honor died with honor on the PS2.

Brothers in Arms: Double Time Look at the 360 version and tell me you don't feel disappointed in the Wii version.

Castle of Shikigami III

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus How do you actually play this game with a Wii-mote? Well....at least it was considered decent by most reviews. Second of all, this game begs needs a Playstation controller. I guess you keep waiting if you ever want to see the newest installment of Blaz Blu on the Wii.

Baroque Jesus! That game got shitty scores!....Do you just list games because they're there? I told you 8.5 to 10 games for the hardcore only! Jesus man! It is a waste of time to look at this!

honestly, your argument, without saying it outright is: first and third person shooters are teh hardcore. PS3 and Xbox 360 have plenty of these. thus, they are hardcore systems. wii has 12 substandard shooters and a couple good ones. its a party system.

See the beginning of my rebut to see my definition of what hardcore is.

its pretty sad.

Let me tell you what is sad. What is sad is you listing a handfull of above average games in a sea of shit. When I say shit, either the game sucked or it should've never been on the Wii in the first place (based on sales) and could've easily been more successful if only they were solely on the DS. To add to that sea of shit, you also put in a bunch of pick up and play games or women and childrens titles. Unlike you, I gave a less biased review and I have actually played some of these games and/or taken the time to look at sales and reviews. Only a handful of those games were worth noting. The Wii makes me fear for the hardcore, if this is what the sales are going to be like. Don't even get me started on your implanting BC games in that list.

Does it look like Nintendo actual markets to the hardcore to you? If you say yes...I'd say....you are really waiting for a day that shall not come this gen.
