Well my 60GB Ps3 is as good as new, just hope it lasts. At least I have another 3 years of warranty, and if it dies after that I could always buy another one.

Well I'm sorry for your loss.

sorry bro sucks but i swear there is like a virus killing 60gbs recently damn

A heat gun, some thermal paste and a few screwdirvers and it'll be like brand new.

Not always sadly.

Well in the case of the YOLD it works. The YOLD appears mostly because the processor is overheating. The console prevents it by shutting down automatically. You only need to change the thermal paste (and clean out the dust) for it to work again. I know several people who've repaired their 60Go after a YOLD and their console works now like a charm, and it's a very easy fix.

Man Are you under warenty??

As much as I love my PS3, I must admit it's not that reliable.

From 2006, I had 2 Blueray drives die on me, one YLOD, one hard drive failure and one display failure. Actually, I bought 2 extra PS3s because the second one died while the first was still in repair, so I've got 3 of them now... -_- (total cost here in Europe : around 600 $ x 3 = 1800 $)

3 of my 5 problems were on my old 60 Gb backward compatibility PS3...

Still, according to stats, PS3 is more reliable than 360 but less reliable than Wii.

And when your 360 RRODs, at least you don't pay 215 € here in Europe to have it fixed (something like 320 $, go figure...). I know I've got money bu still... Sony is not very friendly with us in Europe.
