Forums - Sales - Activision trying to find out how fast they can kill Guitar Hero franchise?

Activision's resources would have better been served getting a better roster for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2!

Where the hell is my Jean Grey, Apocalypse, and Thanos as playable characters?

I just can't seem to find an interest in GH or RB or any of the likes.

M:UA2 takes place during the Marvel storyline "Civil War". None of the three characters you're requesting are involved in that storyline. On top of that, Jean Grey has been dead for years.

You are right, because all of the games starting from X-Men legends has been 100% faithful to the comics, right?

Edit: Also, I do not remember Hulk having a role in the Civil War story line either, but he is playable character I believe. And a character dead in a Marvel Universe? You should know better.

That is all

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

GH Metallica was the last one for me, great game, and I am a fan of the Band. Maybe I will buy GH Smash Hits when its at $10, but that's it.

I hope there's a guitar hero/ rock band for the natal. I'd like to play a guitar like that

Next were probably going to start seeing 2-4 Call of Duty games
per year...

Please kill it so people learn to play real instruments instead. If only real guitars had some kind of reward system to keep u going. oh wait they do it helps yah get laid. Peace!!!

I stopped caring about Guitar Hero after the crappy GH3.

While Rock Band is being milked as well, it isn't certainly as bad.

Lego Rock Band ought to help with that.

I'm personally bored of both GH and RB now. I don't think I'm going to be purchasing any more entries of either franchise.

Yep

Lego Rock Band
Beatles Rock Band
Rock Band Country Track Pack

Did I miss any?

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Hey it works with Singstar.

None of the other games have attempted to be faithful. This will be the first one. It is trying to give you some wiggle room, as you're only locked into playing two characters depending on which side you choose (Iron/Mr. Fantastic or Captain America/Luke Cage), and the rest you get to choose which side they play for. So yes, some characters not part of the storyline are going to be playable. However, there's a difference with having living characters getting involved, and having dead characters getting involved. I'm not gullible regarding comic characters staying dead, however, Jean's been dead for years, is currently dead, and was dead during Civil War. That's enough reason to omit her from the game considering how many other characters can take her place.

Regarding Thanos and Apocalypse, it probably has more to do with how overpowered they are than anything else.

I'm not going to refute your point about the Hulk, because it's valid. However it should be obvious that the Hulk is more an exception because of his popularity and the developers are otherwise trying to stay a bit faithful to the Secret War and Civil War storylines.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think any other characters that were deceased at the time are present in this game either.

While I understand your point, I honestly doubt the average purchaser of this game is going to be aware of Jean's status during the civil war storyline.

If an exception can be made for Hulk, I do not see why an exception cannot be made for any of the other characters. I want to purchase this game, but the character roster seems 'same old' and blah to me thus far. And Thanos was playable in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I am sure he was probably one of the most powerful characters on the roster, but it worked. And wasn't Silver Surfer unlockable in the previous installment?

It would make me feel better if you could somehow get the characters I mentioned in the game, which I doubt. Thanx though.
