Forums - Sony - Nooo! I think my ps3 just died. ;_;

I always back up my PS3 save files, especial from the games I'm currently playing, just a safe precaution. Unlike the old days were memory cards were the only way to save games but at least if the system broke it worked on the newer one, I suppose this is a draw back....but at least the PS3 does come with a backup option as well as most games allow you to actually back up each individual save files.

Tell them you work at VGchartz and that you'll write one messed up review if you don't get your system fixed :p strongarm!

Ah damn. Just remember about my InFamous save.  I was halfway through.

I think they only stopped doing that in Europe.

I hope. >_>

MM wasn't showing enough love to his Wii and the Wii killed his PS3 for a second time, seriously man you need to pay the little guy some attention :'(

Quick, get those little heart paddle thingies that George Clooney uses! (Cookie to whoever knows where this is from)

You could try toggling the switch on the back. For whatever reason that usually gets my electronics working again.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Pretty sure if you remove the hardrive when you try and put it back in or on another machine it'll get formatted.

It only asks to format it if the firmware is different, happen to my friend, if it's the same firmware on the hard drive as well as the PS3, the I can only assume it should just work, you just have to activate the PS3 so that it syncs it to the PSN ID....although I'm only guessing at this stage...suppose it's worth a try.

Try changing your avatar to an updated version of The Last Guardian. Not to the Skull Kid, though, your PS3 will explode.

Then,

1) Make sure it's turned on from the back

2) Make sure none of your fuses are blown.

3) Make sure all of the switches in your fuse box are on.

4) Make sure the power cable is properly in the PS3's AC port.

If this fails,

5) Hold the eject button for 10 seconds to eject your disc.

6) Call Sony.
