Forums - Nintendo - Icarian: Kindred Spirits

This game was released on the PAL Virtual Console yesterday, and I downloaded and played through it. The playthrough took me somewhere around 3 hours, and I think that's an okay length for a $10 game, really. The game itself was pretty interesting. You need to focus on several things at once, since you need to both control your character and the enviroment(by using "God Powers"), and if that's too hard for you, you can bring in a friend so one of you controls the character and one controls the god powers in a sort-of co-op mode.

Has anyone else had the chance to play it yet? I thought it was fun and would definitely reccomend it. It's sort of a combatless platformer. There is combat, but not a lot and it depends on what the enviroment is like if you can fight or not. Overall I thought it was a pretty nifty puzzle-platformer. Anyone else have an opinion about this game?

Yea I got this last night, but fell asleep while downloading (it was like 3am and its 300 blocks, that takes quite some time for my net).
So this morning, I finaly got to play it.
I only played like 1 hour of it, but so far, I like it. The puzzles and platforming are both fun and made good. The game also makes good use of IR pointer. Like Majin-Tenshinhan, there are times you have to control both, the character and god powers, and its a little hard but fun, makes it more challenging.
I have yet to complete it, but overall, its a pretty good game(at least so far).

@Majin-Tenshinhan
Once again we got interest in the same game :P

Haha, indeed, and now our avatars are related too :)

I saw this on IGN a while ago, and I thought it looked cool. I might get it when it's out in NA.

I saw this in Nintendo Power, they made a joke about how a new Kid Icarus should be done with this kind of art style,- and I don't think it would be a bad idea. I will pick this up when it comes to NA - but I have a lot of games I'm buying in the next 12 months so it might be a while :)

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

Patiently waiting for the NA release here. I've had my eye on this one since it was announced.

hopefully NA will get this on Monday

I‘ve just beaten it now. It took me a little under 3h, but I think it was worth it. The puzzle/platforming was mixed in good. There are also 20(?) relics to collect. I got around 13.
