Forums - Sony - All it takes is 1 LITTLE change to WIN

Sony won't win it is to late. We can only hope they remain competitive to keep competition alive. In he US at least every teenagr has a friend with a 360 by now so they will want thesystem of their friends. more often than not. or the wii. Sony can't gain ground after being so far behind in the US, we r the biggest market. But they need to lower the price soon to avoid being left further behind.

Why do people still think that new games are going to push significant hardware???

It amazes me.

Exactly...especially when the games mentioned do not seem all that appealing (in my opinion).

Honestly, I am only interested in God of War III on the PS3...well, and inFamous. Everything else is on the 360 and Nintendo Wii.

And avid sony / gt5 fans will have a ps3 already....

more "casual" gamers may by now have a wii or 360 and arent about to buy a second console to play one game... they bought previosu GT games because they had a PS1 or PS2 not because they were huge GT fans.

I guess you could make that point but 15 and 10 million are pretty darn high sales to say just because they had playstation they bought it there are quit a few big fans that are just waiting for gt5 just like with mgs4

I guess time will tell.

I honestly find it hard to believe that millions of casuals are anticipating the release of this game. LOL I do not challenge its performance during the PS2 era...but it seems immensely overrated on this site. It's expected to perform amazingly well by members on this site. I have zero interest in it.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

True GT% was one of the ps2's big sellers and it will drive some system sales. If you look at how many copies of the watered down pleasewait patiently copy of GT5 sold you can see that the game is still popular as hell.

You mean all it takes to win is to have a console thats under $300? Why haven't MS and Nintendo thought of this?

Ummm... they did and it's working?? Look at where the system that started at less than 300 is right now... [Wii]

You're not really saying much with that post...

BOTH of they're systems have an MSRP at 300 or less... and BOTH of them are beating the system that's 400+

[/sarcasm]

I know. I just thought that it didn't really work well with the way things currently are.

In about 6 months that'll probably happen

But I'm not sure if a bigger harddrive then 160GB is necessary, I have 60GB and that's still plenty for me, the average gamer won't need over 100GB.

Well a lot of people put music on it and movies and i buy a lot off of the playstation network so 250 would have been great i bought a 320 for my 80gb metal gear version

Why don't you think a little for a moment huh?

The Xbox 360 in AMERICA (its undisputable turf) has an entry price of $200. The (arguably) better deal sells for $300. However, look at the sales this year. It barely outperforms the "expensive" PS3 ($400-$500).

So, is really the *price* the key element here? When people worldwide don't deem a 360 that much worth $200 or $300, is pricing the PS3 $300 going to make such a difference?

Ah, but we know most people are inclined to say "yes, it'll make a difference"...and you know why? because of value. People know the value of the PS3, it's just a matter of not having the budget to compromise a purchase or something else blocking their will to buy it at the current price.

I hate topics like this. Just face it, the wii won this gen...
You're crazy if you think Ps3 will close the 30M gap.

Of course you do, the only games you have on your profile are Wii games. Get over yourself, the OP was obviously meaning the 360 since I don't think that PS3 OR the 360 could outsell the Wii this gen.
