I fucking love this game. It's a must get for anyone interested in turn based strategy games, and simply weird shit.
Here's how the gameplay goes.
You control with the stylus a gust of wind called the wisp. The wisp controls an on screen menu system, including weapons, etc. You use a single soldier to fight for you on a grid based map, full of items to collect and enemies to kill. Each mission gives you a certain amount of turns to complete the mission. Let's say you get 6 turns.
You first get on a mission preparedness screen where you set up which weapons you're taking into battle and which soldier you'll be using. Once in battle, enemies walk a predetermined path back and forth throughout a grid-like map. Your soldier does not move, he can only attack. You control the Wisp(gust of wind) with the stylus. You select a weapon from the icons on the screen and drag it to your soldier. You put the stylus on the soldier and drag the stylus in a direction to attack in that direction.
As you are doing this, two things happen.
1. Enemies will attack you, as the Wisp, not your soldier. They will let loose various shapes that you must avoid, similiar to weaving in a SHMUP game like Ikaruga.
2. A timer goes down on each turn and your turn ends when it hits zero. Getting hit, using weapons, attacking, all drain the clock at different speeds.
At the end of each turn, all enemies you kill will be replaced on the next turn by enemies you select slot machine style. If you don't kill enough enemies by the end of all of your turns, you lose the mission.
There's too much more to explain, but no this is not all. There are also two phases you must change during the game that enhance some weapons and diminish others, there are gems to collect as the Wisp after you attack enemies, which are used for magic powers, and so much more to the game.
It could very well be one of the most complicated games ever created. The tutorial itself takes well over a half hour to complete, and even that doesn't tell you everything.
