What's "Continuous Play"?

its sony's extended warranty scheme for ps3 & psp. basically people with YLOD have registered for it, paid a months fee and then claim for their ylod ps3.

Is Continuous Play from Sony? or some independant company that helps replace PS3/PSPs?

The way it works is you pay 5 Euro/Pound per month (or whatever the price is), and if your PS3/PSP breaks they will replace it.

People were abusing the system by signing up, and then getting their console replace the same week, then getting rid of the service. If they had a problem, they would sign up for another month and repeat.

Essentially it is the same as an extended warranty in the US, except you are paying on a month-by-month basis instead of an upfront $50 for 2 years or whatever.

Really, they should either just axe the program and replace it with an upfront when you buy program, or they should make it so you have to be signed up for 1 full month before you can send it in if they don't want it to be abused. However, with the second method, I would still abuse it as I'd gladly wait 1 month to save over $100. The only effective way to not have it be abused is to go with method 1.
