This, on top of the Brutal Legend thing and the milking of their franchises.

I'm starting to dislike Activision.

What Brutal Legend thing? I thought it was an EA game.

Activision decided to sue EA because they realized after several months (and a good showing at E3?) that they regretted not supporting Brutal Legend and cutting off its funding.  Basically, they've forgotten how to play nice and share and Tim Schafer and EA had to give them a verbal spanking, which was pretty funny...  you can find the articles about this in the E3-week news on any of the blogs.

Oh no, activision might stop making PS3 games.

Wake me up when a good publisher starts saying similar things

Dear Activision
Bye Bye I'm not interested in a single non PC release you have in your portfolio and even those only becouse you merged with Blizard :D

If Activision stopped supporting the PS3, it would be totally devistating to Sony, and the reprecussions would be felt throughout the game industry for years to come.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Wont happen. They have cross-platform engines, might just mean sloppier PS3 titles. PS3 sales revenue easily beats out dedicated development costs.

If they wanted to stop supporting ps3 they could have done it a long time ago back when ps3 was selling horribly in 2007 and with a much lower userbase.

That doesn't make sense... Back then they were waiting to see how each console sold. Now everything's out in the open.

It would be foolish to stop porting the COD and Guitar Hero games to the PS3 though.

HUH?? why stop supporting ps3 now when its selling a lot better then it did in 2007(which was the "ps3 is dead" year) and has much much higher user base then b4?.

Let me put it another way... When you're starting a business, you expect to lose money (or not make much) in the beginning. You don't have customers and you may have to lower prices to attract people. But if a few years later you're still not getting what you expected from your business, that's when you start to evaluate whether you should jump out or not.

However I don't believe they would stop supporting the PS3 completely... maybe just port less games to it?

One thing's for sure, this is largely a way to ask Sony for a price cut (which I believe Sony is planning for this year anyway).

I can understand that he wants Sony to increase its marketshare so he can sell more titles but Activision shareholders would have his @$$ if he did something this stupid. This isn't like the Gamecube where sales were severely lacking for third parties the PS3 sells games and lots of them and will continue to do so into the future. Dropping support now is leaving lots of money on the table.

...k and sony is scared now..if i was Sony i would buy them and make them my bitches

All that is Activision now days is COD and GH, it would be foolish to turn their backs on 22m people

A year without an Infinity Ward FPS would be like another Halo 3 year, not good for Sony at all.

Tease.

lol like he'd ever do that.

Check out my game about moles ^

The only Activision game my family owns is Guitar Hero III (and that's because my dad wanted to play it so badly).
