That doesn't make sense... Back then they were waiting to see how each console sold. Now everything's out in the open.
It would be foolish to stop porting the COD and Guitar Hero games to the PS3 though.

HUH?? why stop supporting ps3 now when its selling a lot better then it did in 2007(which was the "ps3 is dead" year) and has much much higher user base then b4?.

Let me put it another way... When you're starting a business, you expect to lose money (or not make much) in the beginning. You don't have customers and you may have to lower prices to attract people. But if a few years later you're still not getting what you expected from your business, that's when you start to evaluate whether you should jump out or not.
However I don't believe they would stop supporting the PS3 completely... maybe just port less games to it?
One thing's for sure, this is largely a way to ask Sony for a price cut (which I believe Sony is planning for this year anyway).
