Forums - Sony - Activision threatens to "stop supporting" Sony consoles.

Don't really care, never liked CoD, Guitar Hero, or Tony Hawk...so be my guest Activision. ^^

You know what? Sell Infinity Ward to somebody else, and you can do whatever the hell you want with the rest of your shovelware and casual crap.

This is pretty much how most people probably feel, though losing the Guitar Hero IP and Treyarch's CoD's would hurt the PS3 pretty bad.

Anyway, the guy just wanted to put some pressure on Sony. It seems uncalled for, all of Sony's mistakes were made years ago, complaining about the harder development now is silly. Hell, Modern Warfare on the PS3 is close to their best selling game on Sony consoles, topping anything they did on the PS2.

Lol at people making this a big deal. Lets get something straight. This guy is talking outta their ass. Ps3 makes profit. Why wouldnt they want more money?

If they stop selling on Sony consoles that would mean they would lose 4M sales+ of their unrealistic shooter games!

i agree that this a tactic activision is using to try and get sony too drop the price of the ps3 and the psp as well.

Well nobody cares about yearly Guitar Heroes or Tony Hawk, but losing Call of Duty (the Infinity Ward games) would suck.

LOL, hey Acti you just lost a PS3 customer, taking back my old COD4 to gamestop today to get my $4 back. I wont be spending my hard earned money on your garbage anymore... lol seriously.

I think Activision either need to shut up or do it. The GC support pretty much lost entire companies near the end. There should be no loyalty to any company if it's not providing adequate return on investment. So Activion should just continue making game or do it. Either way they can stop posturing there big fat @$$.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Huh? If they really do so, the only game I'll miss is the Infinity Ward CODs. But I can live without it.

And I don't see the momentum is losing. All 3 consoles are losing momentum is this low season and bad economy.

Not really. 360 and Wii are doing fine.

So is the PS3.

Selling around 10k less a week than the X360 with twice the price.

Thats not what momentum means.  The 360 is selling about 20% MORE this year than last year.  The PS3 is selling about 15% LESS than it was last year.  PS3 is losing momentum, 360 is gaining momentum.

That's easy to do when you had such a shitty time a year before. Just wait though in Sep. 360 will stop being up yoy. Just like next year the ps3 will be up yoy.

You guys are quoting 2007, when the PS3 wasn't even a year old. People were still in the wait and see approach, giving the PS3 the benefit of the doubt. Now it's 2 years later, and the benefit is fading, leaving only the doubt.

That said, I can't see Sony taking the news lightly, as Activision is a major player (If I recall properly, their absence at E3 08 was part of what brought the glitz and glamor back to E3 09). I'm sure Sony will make some concession to entice the publisher to stick around, like cut their license rates in half for Activision.
