my qualifier is actually Fire Emblem (as in you aren't hardcore unless you have beat a Fire Emblem game), but I have also played and beat this before (just once though)

lol, well, I've beaten every US released Fire Emblem, so I'm good I think Zelda II is harder overall though.

I beat Zelda II when I was younger. The game was hard back then and insane now. I tried to play it a few years ago and I got owned. Modern games really make you soft.

A long time ago, when I spent way more time on video games than I should have, I could get the hammer without even visiting the first & second palaces. I would just get everything I need and go straight there. The reason I did that was so I could go get the downthrust (favorite move ever), which all you needed was enough heart/magic containers for that. Which then made the first & second palace a breeze.

Now, I suck so bad at the game, but I still love it. I don't know if I can beat the last palace any more because I forgot the layout. We drew a map of it as kids (7-8yo) and had it all folded up and stored away, but I'm sure it got thrown in the trash by now.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Your taking me back Norlead, I had forgotten all about skipping the first two palaces. Nintendo really needs to make another Zelda II styled game in the series. Up until Ocarina of Time, Zelda II was my favorite. It's still my second favorite in the series. That game will always be made of win.

I skipped more than the first two palaces. I used to just completely skip 1&2, then go back and get the items and beat the boss, but not close out the palace, then go to 3 and pick up the raft, jump over to do 4 & 5, then backtrack to place the crystals so I could level up faster.

I'm going to start a VGChartz plays Zelda II: The Adventures of Link thread in a few weeks when I finally get back to playing it again. I need to beat it once more, plus I want to add to the FAQ page on VGChartz.
