Clearing out the 40GB stock. What is the difference between the 80GB and 40GB models? If its just the hard-drive then thats a sweet deal.

I think one of them includes a dual shock 2 controller and the other one doesn't.

They both do, there isn't a difference. I got a 80 gig that's why ;)

No problem, he didn't want a PS3 back then. He was still addicted to WoW at that moment!

They are clearing out the 40GB stock as the Ps3 slim is due in October/November imo

I actually won't be surprised if SONY has a stock clearing $50 PS3 price cut WW, just to get the fat models out of the shelves

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Well it not that odd that stores would have stock of older PS3s around, remember a few months back Amazon had a bunch of the MGS4 bundles, with the original BC 80GB.

didn't that sku go out of production years ago? Why would they still have some around? o.o

Probably just a few 40 gigs leftover from last year.

I think a similar thing happened here (Saskatchewan, Canada). I heard an ad for this place called Computer Trends that advertised $300 (I think) PS3's for their best sale ever (until next weekend's sale) sale. I shrugged it off because I figured they'd be refurb units like everything else they tend to sell, but I never checked it out to confirm.
