I seriously doubt MGS4 would be impossible on 360. MGS4 isn't close to being one of the most impressive games graphically on PS3. It runs at a sub HD Resolution (1024x768) and has frame that averages in the high 20s. If any other PS3 game had the same issues, fans would be complaining about how the game isn't optimized for PS3 and how games like Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, Resistance, KZ2, etc. run in a true HD resolution, with a higher frame, and no install.

Why MGS4 gets touted as some achievement in PS3 development is beyond me. Given the resolutions, framerate, and installs. It is not deserving of the technical praise it receives. Especially when you look at what other developers have done with their PS3 exclusives.

1024x768 isn't sub-HD.....and for the most part it's at 30FPS, and even gets up to  60FPS in certain areas..hardly a "high 20s" average

1024x768 is sub HD. The lowest standard HD resolution is 720p (1280x720) which has pixel count of 921,600. 1024x768 has pixel count of 786,432. The gameplay averages in the high 20s. I believe it was 27fps, I'll have to look it up. You completely proved my point though. No other PS3 game with the same technical performance would get such a vigilant defense. I said it when MGS4 was released and I'll say it again. Uncharted looks far better than MGS4. It does so without an install while actually running in HD.

wait what? the game games at 720p on my TV, and 30fps.

Because it's upscaled. The games native resolution is 1024x768. There have been quite a few games this generation that run at a sub HD resolution.

Runs at 1080p on my TV Batman and that's what matters.

I honestly could see MGS:R on 3 HDDVD discs for 360.  Think about it, the graphics will take a ton of disc space.  So, unless all this time, they're unspecifically meant the PS3 version's graphics were going to surpass MGS4, while the 360 version wouldn't even do that, expect multiple discs for 360.

Remember, they had to remove some content from MGS4, because not even the blu-ray could store so much information at that time.  And, with MGS:R missing MGO, it has an extra 15-20 GB to work with, so, the space is there.

You obviously know nothing about what takes what ammount of disc space. Graphics (3D models etc) take up very little, textures can take up alot more but lets face it, no console game is using crazy high res textures (Crysis like) that take up huge ammounts of space.

Audio and Cinematic cutscenes are what take up the majority of the disc space. Metal Gear Solid 4 used uncompressed audio and hours of it! and a couple of high bit rate 1080p pre-rendered scenes at the end of Act 3 and the end of the game.

I'm willing to bet the audio from MGS4 took up around 70% of the disc space.

This is why on most JRPG's on the Xbox 360 only feature one language track. Japanese for Japan, English for the UK and America, to cut down needed space.

Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 will have no Japanese voice track and only English where as the Ps3 version will have both.

Standard DVD's run at 1080p on my TV, but they don't look as good as Blu-Ray' Discs. Why DVD are native 480p and BRD are native 1080p.

Well MGS4 was optimized for the ps3, so it would be very hard to port for 360.
