Forums - Sales - The Conduit Sales Prediction

The Wii is so strange. No shooters and hardcore action games seem to be able to sell well.

'Normally', if on a HD console, a game like The Conduit should sell 500K on first week and 3 million lifetime on a +50 million installed base, but since not even Metroud Prime 3 managed to sell that, I guess a lil over 100 K first week and a mill lifetime (maximum) is more realistic for The Conduit.

@Megaman79

I really doubt we have to worry about Fight Night poaching this game. The two games just appeal to very different groups. FNR4 will definitely outpace it, but not damage it.

It's a very hard phenomenon to track anyways

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Hope so. The thought did dawn on me that UFC owners prob. won't want another "fighter" so soon afterwards. Thats a plus.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

respectable prediction, do you have any reasons for this? and is that 45K in NA or WW on the first week?

also my prediction is 150-250K WW launch with 1-1.5million (outside chance at 2million) in sales Lifetime WW (making it a respectable launch and good new IP for the Wii, but not the phenomenon that some are hoping for.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

But war... war never changes

Someone please explain to me why they think this game will do better than 150-300k life time sales?
Madworld and House of the Dead were both advertised well and they belly flopped.

That's not really a comparison of like things ... Of the 6 games that could be called first person shooters and were reasonable efforts for the Wii (Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty World at War, 007: Quantum of Solace, and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2):

One game performed noticeably below 500,000 but it was also a port of a PSP game
One game (the lowest quality of the bunch) sold roughly 500,000 copies
The other 4 are million sellers.

All of those except Red Steel are established franchises and Red Steel was a launch title. We all know launch titles do better than they should.
