Forums - Sales - Japan Charts June 8 to June 14

Time for Sony to drop price in Japan only one title sold over 5,000 on a base of 3.2m for the week. For Wii, MH3 and WSR are going to accompany large boosts and PS3 just doesn't have much over the next few weeks. So long as Wii has a couple titles titles top 10,000 and four or more top 5,000 its going to remain ahead of PS3 if neither system has recently gotten a price drop, new color, bundle, or big title.

As for the Xbox 360, once it had a critical mass of games top 100k, and the price got below $200 I think it reached a point where some gamers said "what the hell" it has enough content I want, and its dirt cheap compared to the other systems. So 360 can probably stay above 3,000/week for another 18 months or so at least unless Wii & PS3 both become alot cheaper in that time frame.

What do you think will happen to 360 software sales?

The attach rate has been dropping, but hardware stays strong. Famitsu have reported that RE5 and SO4 have been selling quite well since release.

Wow, Arc Rise isn't doing so hot according to Famitsu.

^That's why we shouldn't trust them ;p

It's even worse because it had a higher debut than MC, but lower second week. That means that it's having much worse legs.

While those are possibilities, you must also consider that it isn't in demand.

I hear this is the PS2's lowest weekly number of all time in Japan. The mighty console is really close to her well deserved retirement.

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

Incredible 360 numbers.
Incredible.

Do you see what I see?
Wii 18k
PS3 10k
360 8k

IN JAPAN?!?!?! with no big release... Microsoft is gaining solid ground.

JRPG effect imo.

Portables still on top but Wii is slowly building momentum. I remember some who thought that it could go under 10 k until Wii Sports Resort. Well it won´t happen this time. It´s up from 13 k weekly prior to Golden Week to over 18 k now. Perhaps in anticipation of Wii Sports Resort?

PS3 seems to be slipping again AND 360 gaining?! Very intresting even if both are very low.
