I'm not cherrypicking or anything, but one thing you posted in your pink-fonted respnse to Malstrom threw me off.
How is Sony targeting Nintendo's upstream? If they are, they have FAILED miserably.
Microsoft already has the core gamers for the 360, its not like they need more help getting them. You say Nintendo can't get all the casuals, but they rule the party game scene, and the fitness sector. The only casual area I could imagine they don't dominate in is licensed games, but those barely ever do well. |
I was talking about Wii M+ vs Sony's Mii2 wand. They surely haven't failed miserably if they haven't released yet have they?
Core vs Casual? Well thats bullcrap really. One of my friends is a massive Tekken fan who also loves Pokemon. My other friend is one of the best Age of Empires 3 players in the world and his favourite games for the Xbox 360 is Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones. The moment you start thinking along those lines you've already stopped thinking.
Theres a huge market of people who don't own consoles for a variety of reasons. So if Microsoft can make a console relevant to them in ways Nintendo doesn't then they can secure that market segment. If there are people who want both a Wii and an Xbox 360 then obviously they aren't catering to the Xbox 360 owners as well as they could. Movies, music, games, game shows (100 vs 1), education, communication, fitness, interface are all areas where Natal is applicable.
